Housekeeping No Show
Check in was easy and we received communication from the owner early on the day of arrival. We did not arrive at the house until 11p due to traveling. When we were settling in we noticed food and drinks on the kitchen counters, plus a dishwasher full of dirty dishes. We then observed that the bathrooms were unclean with dirty towels hanging and contents in the toilet bowl. We observed that the beds had unclean sheets on them and many personal items that belonged to someone else on the floor of the rooms. We attempted to contact the owner immediately with no success and learned that we were given only 1 contact number. We did some soul searching and found clean bedding in an unorganized cabinet...made the beds and got some rest. The next day we received no call back and called the ownner around 9a to learn that the housekeeper had car issues and was not going to be able to help our circumstance. The owner eventually said he would refund us and we still have not received a refund.

Perfect home base for our vacation
My daughter and I took a road trip to Colorado. Although we didn't spend any time in the town here, this house was the perfect home base for our trip. Clean and comfortable, we looked forward to unwinding here after a long day of hiking and exploring. Instead of eating out, we used the kitchen to cook our dinners - everything was available and in perfect working order. The living room, bedrooms, and bathrooms were excactly as described. Bottom line: we looked forward to coming back here to unwind, relax and sleep after a hard day on the road. Highly recommended!

Mostly met expectations
The host contacted us about 8 on the morning of check in, which we appreciated. But when we had questions about TV operation around 7 that night we could not get ahold of him. A TV upstairs had a vertical screen damage and we could not access any method for viewing any content. We texted, left phone messages and emailed with no responses for our whole 3 day stay. We would have liked to watch something as a family after our days of hiking. The disappointment was in not hearing back from the host. Otherwise, it was an older home with some updates, but older-home quirks. Some of the outlets didn’t work and there was old water damage on the dining room ceiling. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated having a quiet, private space to relax.

We enjoyed our stay! Close enough to be able to walk to town but still felt fairly remote as the house is toward the end of the loop. Nicely stocked kitchen and all of the linens smelled freshly washed.

Hidden Gem in the Valley
Dan's place was and is more than we had expected. Mind you i travel with an ALL women cast, and God forbid I would reserve a not "up to par" to the girls' standards. We are from South Dakota, and life here is down to Earth, never "nouveau riche", just hard working folks with little saving (except for the Sanfords - LOL) AND this Hidden Gem is truly a Home away from Home!!! Thank you so much Dan!!!

Worst VRBO/ ABNB experience yet
Pros: great location (we choose based proximity to hiking trips) unique- had a lot of character like really nice gas fireplace Cons: other peoples clothes in dryer, closets, chest of drawers- I had to move things around other peoples belongings dead mice on floor in living room (even though we were charged extra for cleaning) many windows without screens and one in MBR that was broken- given there is no AC it got a bit hot in there during the day (even though we were charged extra for damage waiver) no maintenance support- ceiling leaked after heavy rainstorm and damaged TV. I unplugged and moved TV from leaking area, cleaned up water and texted owner. It took 2 days for a new TV to arrive and I had to unbox and set it up myself. If this was a friend or neighbor lending me his place I would be grateful for the hospitability and would have gladly brought my tools along to help with some of the repairs. But that wasn't the case- this was a very expensive business transaction that has tarnished what has been a great history of experiences having rented through VRBO/ ABNB for all family vacations for many years.

Charming and Spacious--hated to leave!
This was our first experience renting a vrbo, and it was wonderful. First of all, the location is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures, which are amazing, barely do it justice! The property is just charming, so cozy and so spacious. We felt right at home immediately. My husband and our two kids came to the area for an outdoor wedding, and we were so glad to have such a comfortable, indulgent (but not intimidating, space to return to. They stocked the house with so many thoughtful things! We enjoyed the coffees and teas, but even more so the little amenities like scissors, a spatula, and UNO games. The owner was quick to reply to my questions, had great recommendations for food, and was super helpful! The only thing we wish we'd done differently was book a longer stay. Oh well, next time! (Make sure you plan ahead for groceries, as the nearest stores are far away!)

The overall experience was great. There were a few things that could be improved on. The glasses in the kitchen were put away dirty. Several had lipstick on the rims and had obviously not been washed. Hand towels and washcloths would have been nice to have. The sheets should probably fit the beds. We would definitely rent again.

Stayed here and loved it. Overall place was clean other than housekeeper thought we were coming in day later so bed was not made. Contacted the owner Daniel and was very satisfied with him accommodating us with fresh linens. He even went as far as comping us for that night. Felt like we were in a Hallmark movie. Quant old town at the bottom of the mountain. 😁 My only regret was I should have booked a few weeks later to see the Aspens changing colors!

This was a cool cabin. Fantastic views. Well represented in the photos. We loved the outdoor deck and fire table area. Charcoal grill which we loved. Modest but adequate. In need of some care...deck deteriorated, empty lp tanks for the fire table (we resolved and the owner offered to pay) lots of stairs but pretty nice. Comfy beds. Super location. Note...cabin like in nature...no central.air, and paper plates would be a plus. Or run the dishes u will be using thru the dishwasher when arriving. Light on wash rags and kitchen towels. Some cabin like negatives...mouse droppings under sinks and with pans. But we loved the views and outdoor space and location.

Fantastic getaway property
If you are looking for a cute mountain getaway, this is the place for you! The house was super well appointed and had everything we needed to cook almost all meals at the house, including a grilling night! The porch was so fun to hang on with the fire pit and it was very convenient for nights out at the casinos! Definitely recommend hiking St. Mary's glacier nearby! We will absolutely be back to this property sometime soon :)

This home has everything you need
The owner/host (Danny) is the nicest guy! So helpful and responsive. It’s definitely not within walking distance of the major casinos. Maybe the smaller ones if the weather is good. That was not the case for us. Uber/Lyft is s hit/miss. Make sure you have transportation. The house is fully equipped with everything you need and more.

Cozy and relaxing place
I really enjoyed staying at this house. My friends and I were looking for a place that was suitable for relaxing and hanging out, and this place was perfect. The fireplace made everything feel very cozy, and the kitchen was well equipped for our cooking needs. Clean and well cared for. We weren't there for the casinos, but it is very close to Central City and Black Hawk. The surrounding area was beautiful and I enjoyed the scenery when driving around. Lots to see. Communication with the owner was great. I would stay here again.
