LAKE COTTAGE WITH DECK - 5 Star - go to USC football games- Perfect for Clemson

Due to the setting it's best:
-for only 1 or 2 people-sorry NOT for visitors, unless discussed -looking for lake
-corporate stay in the area .
-There is NO PLACE to DOCK a BOAT or PARK A TRAILER.
- If you are renting a boat for a day, then check with the owners about a temporary dock
.-snowbirds in transit or scoping the area

This is a perfect place for a quiet get-a-away for 2 or wonderful alternative to a required hotel stay. The cottage was built totally by hand, by the owner, with trees cut from the property. It is designed for adults and there is nowhere for kids to play.
-No fire pit or place to burn

TWO KAYAKS are available to enjoy our large cove or to explore Shull Island. PADDLE BOAT for use also

Accommodations: Den and kitchen with island on one floor. Downstairs 600 sq. ft. with a queen bed and sitting area. Sleeps 2- one queen bed downstairs.

Three large windows overlooking the lake. We have all new appliances, including granite counter tops and 2 HD TVs with Dish Satellite.

There is a deck off the lower level for enjoying the lake view and for kayak or swimming access.

Off Season, 2 nights available if less than 2 weeks from arrival.

If you stay a week and could leave the lake, it's two hours from Charleston, SC. Downtown Columbia is 35/40 minutes away and the zoo (30 minutes) State Museum and children's museum are well worth the visit. Restaurants and many shopping choices are in Lexington which is an 18 minute drive. Many restaurants and grocery stores are an easy 10/15 minute drive from the guest house. Most renters prefer to shop prior to arrival.

There is a deck off the lower level for enjoying the lake view and for kayak or swimming access.

The cottage exceeded our expectations. It was very private and had a beautiful view of the lake from the large front window. The whole lower level was the bedroom and included a washer and dryer. It should be noted that the only bathroom is on the top floor so it could be a challenge for someone with mobility issues. We personally didn't find this a problem. All the basics were provided. Probably the most important feature of any vacation rental is the Host. We found Ellen to be very personable and has a lovely sense of humor. She is very responsive to questions and proved to be a superb host.

Very relaxing

This was a wonderful property. Ellen and Andy were wonderful. They gave us suggestions of things to do and were always available if we needed them. The cottage was clean and well maintained. The view was perfect and made for a relaxing week. We will definitely be back in the future.

The best one could hope for…

This rental property is in a wonderful location. The owners are wonderful people and are very accommodating. It is close to everything that you need yet very secluded. You are right on Lake Murray and have great access to the water. My wife and I can highly recommend this location and will look forward to staying here again someday.

Wonderful Week and Stay at Lake Murray!

What a beautiful cottage! Ellen and Andy are gracious hosts and the cottage is a perfect getaway for a couple wanting to enjoy a relaxing vacation to Lake Murray. My husband and I had a wonderful time. The cottage is very clean, organized and beautifully decorated. You can enjoy great views of the lake from the living room/dining area and kitchen. The bed is very comfortable and there is a deck right off the bedroom to enjoy lake views as well. The property surrounding the cottage is very pretty and nicely landscaped. A short ride to some really great restaurants. Thank you Ellen and Andy!!

Clean, comfortable, relaing

WA large, two person cottage with a calming natural view of the lake, framed by trees. Large TV so that it can easily be watched Two kayaks to go kayaking in Lake Murray, which is absolutely wonderful. Many places to take an evening stroll. Only 20 minutes drive to Lexington for good restaurants. This is a great place to come to just relax and do nothing but read books and watch the lake

Beware of host

Our stay was nice until the host sent us a message wondering why the blinds were closed all the time. Apparently she wanted to he able to see what we were doing. However she did say that she saw a little bit - not sure what tho. After that message we packed up and left because we did not feel safe. I mean how would she expect us to feel? She didn’t understand how that actually sounded. Of course she will not refund any of our stay. I will definitely not book this property again and will never recommend it to anyone.

Peaceful natural setting and comfortable indoors

The cottage had everything we needed. The cottage and area are beautiful, safe and well-kept. We kayaked, walked, ran, and fished, saw turtles, an armadillo, deer, lizards bunnies, squirrels birds and had morning and evening visits from a hummingbird. The decor of world travel photos will have you planning your next vacation. My husband is already considering his next trip to this lake cottage. Host responded quickly to my questions. The cottage is tucked in a cove and very private.
