There is a steep drive way to the home. We recommend using a 4wheel drive vehicle drove down. Parking is available at the top of the hill also.

Lovely home with beautiful waterfront views!
This is a great property and we were very comfortable and enjoyed the views from both the living area and the master bedroom upstairs. A few comments: All of the bedroom/bathroom doors either squeak or get a little stuck when opening/closing. Some small dressers in the bedrooms where they would fit would be helpful, without having to live out of living out of suitcases. May want to check the downstairs bathroom in the front bedroom as our family encountered mosquitos and had to keep the door closed constantly. Lastly, we appreciated knowing about the steep driveway as we came down it when we arrived but then struggled the first day with our large (non 4-wheel drive) vehicle. Nice to have parking at the top though! Enjoyed walking to the Broken Oar restaurant a few times as it was convenient and has great views.

Great Week
The property was very clean and well-appointed. The location was absolutely perfect as we used the dock to tie up our boat and spent the week boating the local waters. One item to note...there were no dressers in any of the bedrooms, so there was not drawer storage for clothing anywhere to be found. Odd!!!??? There was closet space with hangars, but our folded clothing just lhad to be left piled on the floor for the week.

Waterfront view in Glen Bernie, Maryland
It felt like we were in a remote area, but we were still fairly close to shopping and restaurants. The home is multi story on a hill overlooking the water, so the views were nice. Especially at night. We enjoyed playing air hockey in the basement and watching boaters from the dock. The driveway was curvy and very steep, but we had AWD, so it was fine.

As is…
We chose this location as a halfway point between families on the east coast. The view of the water and dock access were very appealing. The layout was suitable for two family groups. Our first impression was tainted by the overgrown yard. This was disappointing as the very same complaint was in a previous property review on another site. I contacted the manager and was told the yard would be done on Monday…the day before our stay would end. The manager also explained the yard maintenance was on a periodic schedule. I explained that this was of no benefit during our stay. I would attach photos, but that isn’t an option. The yard was 8 inches high and soaking wet upon arrival. This made for a hazardous trek down to the water and a non pet-friendly environment for our family dog. As in a previous review, there is still no window treatment in the upstairs master bedroom resulting in an early start every day and a lack of privacy. Other bedrooms are a bed and closet. Not sure where the “Luxury” aspect of the property comes in. The sink disposal did not operate, but we determined it was the switch or GFI outlet. The manager said he would put a call in for repair…no one showed. Monday came and went and the yard wasn’t mowed. Hence the title…As is. On the back end of our stay we discovered 9 tics on our dog from his brief visits in the yard to relieve himself. Painful for the dog, and stressful for us. Vet visit to follow. All communication with the manager/owner ceased a day after the stay. I requested a credit for the loss of use of the yard and have had no reply. At this price point all of the property should be available. Previous property managers/owners have contacted us to ensure the yard was maintained prior to our arrival. This is not a concern for this rental. Should there be a subsequent credit to our account I will revisit and update this review. You may get the timing just right and have a yard to enjoy and all amenities working. If that’s the case then you can enjoy the water view and air hockey table. If messaging with a manager is sufficient to smooth over any irregularities at this price point, you won’t be disappointed. We will look elsewhere for our next rental.

Great spot on the Chesapeake bay
This is a great house if you want to get away from the city for the weekend. Very clean and perfect for our group of 7. My friends and I spent a lot of time on the decks enjoying the view. We also brought floats and tied them to the dock to do some swimming. The Broken Oar was only a 10 minute walk from the house so we went there for dinner and live music one night.

Excellent Stay for Multi generational family
The place was wonderful and everyone seemed to like it in our family. We had a nearby wedding to attend and we wanted a few days to visit with each other. My sister, my mom, my brother-in-law, 2 nephews, and my husband stayed. The Good Plenty of room for everyone. The kids slept on air mattresses that we brought in the downstairs basement game room. All of the adults had a room and a bed. The beds were extremely comfortable. The view of the creek was stellar. Everything was super clean. I noticed they had an ozone machine in one of the closets. That gave me peace of mind in these Covid times. There was some stock in the kitchen like seasonings, oil, foil, etc. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Really liked the seasoning rack. The Bad Some of the furnishings need a little updating but nothing that screams unkempt. It was still pretty good. I could not find a broom/dustpan to sweep so I just used their Swiffer. There is a big difference in temperature between the basement game room and the upstairs. We were hot and had to crack our patio door in the upstairs master. The kids reported they were freezing and ended up climbing into their sleeping bags by the second night. This is to be expected and I don't imagine most people have anyone sleeping in the basement the way we did. The Ugly Communication needs a lot of work. I don't know what happened but I had to wait sometimes more than a day to get an answer. At another stage, I had a question the day before I flew out of Texas and the owner responded when I was on my way to the airport which left me feeling a bit stressed. The last question I had for them went unanswered. Jon gave us his number but would have been nice if the messaging system had worked.
