“No contact from Homeaway regarding getting keys etc. Hours spent on the phone to various "customer service". Found out myself that it was managed by cottages. com. Logged in to their website to find all the information there. Probably spent too much money by booking through Homeaway rather than direct with Cottages. Com. Views were stunning, great location. Lovely gifts upon arrival (best banana cake ever) fresh flowers a lovely touch. Very clean. Missing a couple of things like a bbq and heat……

“The cottage is cosy, clean and very inviting. Shiskine is a wonderful place to stay, quiet and very appealing. It's very close to Blackwaterfoot, which is beautiful. The Kinloch Hotel does marvellous meals (takeaways too). What really makes the stay worthwhile is the landlady, Jan. Last year, when we couldn't get off the island due to ferry problems, Jan put us up for an extra with no charge. This year, the same problem occurred and, while we were at Lochranza, she texted me to check things were……

“From the outside this accommodation does not look promising- a ground floor property in a block of council flats, the shared hallway is pretty bleak. But the flat itself was fine, a bit basic but it had everything we needed, nice and clean, plenty of towels, quiet despite being next to a busy road. Parking was difficult - in theory there is on street parking but there is a Vehicle Hire/Garage business next door so all the parking spaces are taken up by their vehicles. However there is plenty……

“Very quiet, peaceful place. The cottage is immaculate, very well looked after. Very friendly humans and dogs. A must if you value time away from the madding crowd.....”

“A home away from home. Our second stay at this fantastic lodge within 3 months. Our first trip was as a family with 3 young children and the most recent trip with my father and sister. Everything you could need ever need inside and outside from children’s colouring and games to condiments to views of the sea and the most beautiful starry nights. A welcome bottle of wine and chocolate on arrival and Kris was a fantastic host. Thank you very much, hopefully we will be back again very soon”
