“Impressive very spacious, comfortable house pretty much as described set in a large garden.9 adults and 3 children but we all found plenty of space to interact without getting in each others way . Hotub proved to be a good source of relaxation after a long day .Plenty of places easily reached nearby for daytime walks. Local pub , the Strathy Inn and Bankfoot Inn were both good choices for meals .”

Was not as advertised. Vrbo ad states "This vacation home is located in Callander". Only after booking was made did we learn that the property was in fact some 5/6 miles outside of Callander, with no amenities nearby, except for a pub (next door) - The Byrne - which is advertised as having "great food and drink all……

“I can’t put into words how stunning this place is! The host had the place all decorated for Christmas since we were there for the festivities which was great as we had a little one with us. The house is very spacious and was spotless! Only bit of feedback I have is that the kitchen utensils could be doing with an update. I was cooking christmas dinner which was a bit harder as there was no working potato peeler and there was not a small knife to use, only large ones. There was also no whisk but……

“This is our 4th trip to The Retreat and we have had another excellent stay at this wonderful property. The cottage is immaculate and well stocked with everything you could need for your stay. The kids loved playing in the garden and the hot tub. The hosts are welcoming and communication with them was easy and straightforward. Can't wait to return!”
