Sunkissed Cabin
This floating cabin is located in the Bligh Island Marine Park in Nootka Sound, BC and is available for rent to Fishermen, Kayakers, and Nature Lovers who wish to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the spectacular wilderness of the West Coast of Vancouver Island and Nootka Sound. The cabin can be accessed by motor boat in about an hour from Gold River or 20 min. from Cougar Creek Recreation Site.
This self-catered and self-operated cabin has four bedrooms and can sleep a maximum of 6 guests. The bathroom has a shower with hot water and there are 3 bedrooms with double beds and a bunk room which can sleep 4 people in single bunks. The cabin offers a fully equipped kitchen and indoor/outdoor living space and includes a gas barbecue and a gas fire pit. Fresh water is gravity fed to the cabin and is processed through a UV filtration system. Electricity is generated by a gasoline powered Honda Generator. The fridge, range, fireplace hot water, run on propane; the upright freezer and ice machine are powered by the generator. The 110V AC lighting is backed up by a 12V DC lighting available throughout the cabin. There is a fish-cleaning table and cooler storage area.
Renters access the cabin in their own boats or kayaks and need to bring food, bedding or sleeping bags, pillows, towels and tea towels, and clean the cabin prior to departure. Boaters will need to top up the fuel at the time of departure.
Starlink was installed last summer so this is no longer a remote location.
The normal weekly rental schedule runs from the end of June through to the end of August. There are some 4 and 5 night periods available. Nightly and Weekly Rates increase for the peak fishing times and decrease for the shoulder periods. The 2024 summer schedule is almost filled.
