Disappointing Experience – Inaccurate Listing and No Support
We booked this property because, according to the VRBO map, it was directly across the street from our friends. When we arrived, we were shocked and disappointed to find the cabin in a completely different location. Normally, this wouldn’t be a big deal, but we chose this property specifically for its location.I contacted the property management company immediately. They admitted the listing was inaccurate and said they’d update the map—but offered no help. The next day, I let them know that VRBO couldn’t relocate us. They said they’d follow up, but never did. Only after I reached out again—after our trip—did they respond and offer a discount on a future booking. After this experience and lack of support, why would I want to book with them again?I spent a large part of my vacation trying to resolve this with both the property manager and VRBO. VRBO did try to help, but couldn’t. They also confirmed it’s the owner/manager’s responsibility to ensure listing accuracy. I’ve used VRBO for 5 years and never had to double-check the address—especially since payment was due upfront before the address was even shared.The listing location is wrong, and the property manager showed little interest in fixing it for future guests. The property itself is rustic but spacious. The loft is large; downstairs bedrooms are small but cozy. The fireplace didn’t work (we weren’t told but not an issue), and some noise from the neighbors next door (a barking dog and loud conversations).
