We enjoyed our stay at the Mountain Inn! It’s a cozy little hotel with no frills but love that it is dog friendly. Be aware that you must call and request a dog friendly room. We had a little problem with this as we were told by a hotel staff member after making our reservation that we “should have picked the dog friendly room on Expedia” but that was not a choice, and were told we “should have just scheduled directly with the hotel.” However, the manager was able to edit our reservation and we had no problems after that. Very close to the Lusten Mountains and lots of great hiking options nearby.

My husband and I loved how close we were to Lutsen Mountain. We could drop our sons off to ski and then hang out in our room until they were ready to be picked up. Also, we could walk across the road to eat at a restaurant. Very nice, clean rooms. We would definitely stay here again.

Great little place, It is a 1/2 drive from the lifts. Not quite close enough to walk but perfectly situated for an affordable stay. I wasn't expecting much but it was a great place to stay. Friendly staff and well apportioned.

Pro tip: Bring earplugs Inexpensive compared to others in area; nice decor; excellent bed with a variety of pillow options. Separate recycle bin is a nice touch, but antithetical to the Keurig coffee maker in-room. There's a self-serve pantry with a variety of food options including frozen pizzas and burritos (aka real food). Ski storage in room, refrigerator, and microwave. Cons included water that wasn't very hot and paper-thin walls and ceiling. I could hear someone snoring all night through the walls (bring earplugs!) and it sounded like the ceiling was crashing in when folks moved around in the room above (get a room on the top floor!)
