Never Again
I am only giving this property 1 star because I cannot give it a zero! The host ghosted us. Despite sending her messages in the VRBO app, phone calls and texts, we arrived in Grayson, GA for a family Christmas gathering with nowhere to stay. The host never gave us access to the property after we had reserved it and paid for it.
We had to scramble and get hotel rooms in a neighboring city which caused us to have to drive back and forth to family gatherings each day.
VRBO was a nightmare. The customer service reps did not take any responsibility for the debacle, claiming they are just a platform to connect hosts with guests.
While I did eventually get a refund days after I had to pay an addition $1700 for hotel rooms, I have not received a refund for the insurance for any possible damage to the property that I paid for at the time of booking.
I am fortunate enough to be able to kick out the hotel money while waiting for a refund. I know everyone may not be able to afford that and I would warn against trusting VRBO with your family's vacations.
