I did not realize that after 7:00 pm there is no longer any staff available onsite. This information is displayed in a frame on the desktop, which I was not positioned to see. As a result, when I returned to the Inn at 9:45 I was locked out, as my keys didn't work in the entryway. I tried to call the hotel and there was no answer and their phone message didn't relay a phone number for me to contact. Fortunately, the night cleaner heard me at the door and let me in. My keys did not work in my room door either and the night cleaner had to call his supervisor and she walked him through making me new keys. In the morning, the supervisor was apologetic and stated that she would speak to staff about conveying more clearly the need for contact phone numbers after hours. Had I not been flustered, and standing outside in freezing rain, in the dark...I may have seen the poorly posted contact info. This could have been a lot worse. I was very grateful to the night cleaner, Mark, for helping me. All of this would have been preventable with better communication from staff. Everything else was excellent!
