This place is an excellent place for visiting in autumn. If the weather is good, you would be able to see Mount Fuji from the room and onsen. Some of the staff are able to speak Chinese and English. The only thing that I would remind anyone going would be "bring towel" to onsen place if you are living there as there are no towels in main onsen.
The two days Hakone trip did not expect this awesome stay at Ryuguden. Starting outside the lobby, we got a warm welcome. The receptionist just won’t let me stand, insisted I sat down and she talked softly explaining every details. Felt like we were a royal family. Then they guides us to the room. The room has a wide open lake view. This was known when I booked. The nine courses dinner is fantastic. It deserves a whole paragraph. Although my wife and I got less than 3 min glimpse of the Mt Fuji before 5 AM from the room when the cloud broke up. That’s all we need. What can one ask for more.
This was a great spot to have some peace and quiet during our busy JAPAN trip. I do have to say that all that changed when a large group came in. The servers were overwhelmed and we were all but forgotten. It changed the whole vibe of the place having a large group talking loudly and being demanding. It would have been perfect otherwise.
