Sad to say we were disappointed by our experience here - we had such high hopes since we decided to spurge & treat ourselves for a night but we felt like we didn't get to fully enjoy it. The positives were the private onsen and unit - both beautiful and lovely! But overall, felt unwelcome and unaccommodated for. Upon arriving, the first question they asked us after asking for our passports was when we would be leaving. Which may be fine under circumstances had we received a warm welcome. We arrived just after 5:30PM and were looking forward to relaxing, staying in for the night and taking advantage of our unit. Being a Ryokan, we had asked about food and were told we were too late to book anything for our stay, not even breakfast the next morning. This caused us to have to venture out for our meals which would have been fine if we had options but many places told us they were full. They gave us a list of other hotels that had food. We walked around in the pouring rain for 2 hours that night and went to 5 other hotels and were told all were "full" for the night, finally found food at an Izakaya. I wish we had known we had to book our meals far in advance before arriving. It was a struggle to find a meal during our stay. We assumed our accommodation would accommodate us and unfortunately were wrong. The wifi also didn't work the entire time. To avoid feeling hungry and wasting time finding food, pre-book your meals before arriving if you stay here!
