"A really friendly pub - the staff and owners were genuinely the friendliest I’ve ever found at a hotel. We had a lovely double room, which was really quiet and had loads of space. "Interesting old hotel in a great location. Interior is a little tired, especially in the rooms, but nice bar and helpful reception staff. We asked to move from the first room we were allocated due to the smell. Staff arranged transfer with minimal fuss and second room great."

"I would have given higher marks had the communal areas (entrance) been hoovered a little more. Despite some of the negative reviews I stayed in Rm 24 and had absolutely no complaints about it. Staff were really helpful"
