“Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business. Food options were limited when we arrived, particularly for our two fussy children, so we did eat elsewhere that night, but the cooked breakfast in the morning was very good,……

“Beautiful cottage on the edge of the Lake District. Great location as it’s a short drive to most popular Lake District attractions. Stunning scenery and spacious cottage make for a relaxing getaway. Kev welcomed us when we arrived and recommended places to visit including the local pub for pizza which was lovely! 100% recommend this cottage for anybody looking to visit the Lake District. The hot tub was a luxurious bonus which helped us relax after a long day of hiking. ”

Maybe a baking sheet, smaller saucepan and a baking dish would have been useful - not a big deal!Lovely to be next to the beck, loads of birds to watch and interesting places to visit.Drive from The Tan Inn to Hawes not for the faint hearted, narrow and very steep.Noticed a funny mark in the oven which I couldn't clean so emailed the office and someone came the next day to clean it - excellent. “This was our 2nd stay in Carr House. It’s a great home with fantastic outside space. We love Kirkby Lonsdale and visit at least once a year. We have stayed in many properties all of which have been lovely in their own way. Carr House is our favourite though. Great experience from communication with Clare and ease of check in and check out. We hope to return again! ”

“A really nice, well-appointed house with a lovely garden and great views. In a very quiet location, but only a few minutes stroll from the local pub, which serves excellent food, this house is a great place to come and relax and is also a good base for walking the dales. We loved it.”

“Fantastic find. Lovely views. We were blessed with new born lambs to watch. It's quiet apart from a variety of bird song, lovely. Each pod is labelled and has a discrete fencing/ stone wall for privacy. The hut itself was clean and in great condition and a good temperature. Perfect size for a couple. There is a double sofa bed for 2 more, but that would be extremely cosy. Kitchen area is fine for self catering. Don't bring too much as the fridge is small, but it does have a tiny ice box for ice……
