Denali Hideaway is located a half mile off of the Parks Highway, nestled in the small town of Healy, just 11 miles north of Denali National Park. Built by a talented local carpenter, this breathtaking, beautiful Alaskan home is an excellent retreat after a long day of adventuring in Alaska's Interior.

Our two bedroom, one bathroom residence is attached, yet private, with an entrance of its own. It comfortably sleeps four with a queen bed and two twin beds, full bath, living room with a mini-fridge, microwave and other small kitchen appliances to make your stay more enjoyable. The home's original owner and master craftsman took precise care in the building of the entire home - including crafting all of the home's ceilings, support beams and intricacies.

Located in Healy, there are a variety of restaurants, a local brewery, a small convenience store, a quaint local coffee shop, an Alaskan lake and many local trails. For more entertainment, restaurants and activities, simply drive 11 miles to just outside the entrance to Denali National Park. This bustling tourist hub, known to locals as "Glitter Gulch", is home to dozens of restaurants, nightly shows, several gift shops as well as your gateway to many more adventurous activities.

Cozy Small Town Cabin

This was a very cozy space from the intricate ceiling beams to the throw blankets and floor lamps. We appreciated all of the thoughtful little touches like the stocked kitchenette, complimentary toiletries, and bug/bear spray available for guests to use. Healy itself is cute and a gorgeous drive away from Denali NP. The Tomkha soup at the Asian To Go restaurant was the best and I've tried many Thai restaurants. Our only critique is that the thermostat was broken so the heat ran regardless of our desired temperature. This was mainly an issue at night because having the blinds closed limited the amount of airflow possible through open windows, making it uncomfortably dry and warm for sleeping. Would highly recommend this place to anyone conditional the thermostat issue is resolved.

Northern Lights in April!!

Clean, quiet property near Denali. Easy check in. We chose this spot in hopes we would have a good chance at seeing the northern lights. And it did not dissapoint :)

Denali and northern lights

beautiful and spacious. 2 adults and 2 teenagers and we had plenty of room. very private but convenient. Could see the northern lights out of the bedroom window! Host was informative about the area and quick to communicate.

Everything you might want

This unit was perfect for our needs. Super clean, comfortable had all we wanted, and host was very responsive! The architecture was impressive. Location awesome for access to national Park!We visited in shoulder season, early April and many local restaurants not open yet, but we had options.As noted in property description, it's a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. No opportunity to cook dinner. Every thing you might need for breakfast and making sandwiches for lunch to take on the NP trails is available. Plan on dinner out. Local options even off season.Bottom line, very pleased with our experience, and would highly recommend Denali Hideaway

Alaska adventure

Perfect location when visiting Denali National park. The place was very cozy and clean perfect for my famliy stay. Cami was very thoughtful and made our stay wonderful. Bouns got to see the northen lights right outside the driveway. Was amazing.

Great place to stay

Very nice and clean place. Friendly host. They let us borrow bear spray for hiking and chairs to watch the aurora. We had stayed at Chena Hot Springs 2 days prior and compared to that place, this place is 5 stars for sure.

Great option near Denali

Modern, clean apartment over garage. Our family of four really felt very comfortable. No kitchen but keurig, refrigerator and microwave. Coffee, tea and snacks provided. Very convenient to Denali. Travel information available and other amenities like bear spray and insect repellent. It is located on a gravel road which initially has has mobile homes in disrepair but then merges into nice homes including this property. It really felt like a home away from home and we recommend it highly.

Kami is a fantastic host! We had great communication, and she is very friendly and responsive. The space is private and tidy, with a location that makes Denali accessible but out of the crowds. The beds are comfortable. Extra pillows and blankets are provided if needed. The coffee/tea set up was a plus. All around, the Denali Hideaway is a great place to call home for a few days.

Quiet lovely home

Excellent communication with Kami. Apartment was very clean and comfortable. Kami had everything stocked from toiletries to kitchenware. The only thing that could have been available was an outdoor place to sit and relax. It's about 20 minutes from Denali park.

A GREAT location in Healy!

Loved our stay here!! The beds were very comfy with great linens and extra blankets as needed. Great location. Host and family were super friendly and very responsive. Perfect!

Great rental for Denali

This was a great rental for our trip to Denali. My husband and I were traveling with our two college age children and we had plenty of space. Lovely cosy spot with lots of houseplants and throw blankets. Enough couch space for everyone and a fabulous selection of national park themed games.

No Heat, was 59F in rooms

We checked in about 3pm and temp was 59F. I talked to host downstairs and she said heat was turned off in June. The next day the sun was out and temp was 62F. Still cold for a shower or just sitting around with Grandsons. We paid to have a nice cabin, but expect heat and they did not have a space heater either. Host was not happy with our comments in the book left at our room for guests to tell about stay. She sent a nasty email to us. I also sent a message to Vrbo and no response after 5 days. So, now I am writing this review which could have been different had I received a response from vrbo. I would expect the Host and Vrbo to refund some money, being we did not get the heat in the room, making the room less than standard.
