Lakefront Bliss Nestled in Great Smoky Mountains

Welcome to our Bright & Spacious Lakefront Mountain Getaway nestled on the largest private lake in North Carolina. This mountain escape is perfect for big families, a college reunion, or a couple's retreat.

From hiking and boating to fishing and golfing, every member of the family will revel in this slice of heaven tucked away in the Great Smoky Mountains. A short ride outside of Lake Toxaway, find Asheville, Cashiers, Brevard, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, the Biltmore Estate, and more.

Situated in the mountains of western North Carolina, this newly renovated lake-front home provides 360-degree views of true natural beauty. Brew a cup of locally roasted coffee, climb into a balcony rocking chair, and savor the first glimpse of morning as you look onto the glassy lake and mountain vista. (Hopefully the smell of fresh mountain air and birds chirping doesn’t bother you!)

The home features a sprawling backyard which meets the private dock with lake access. The house is adorned with charming local decor and new appliances. The kitchen includes a new stainless steel full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, gas stove, oven, drip coffee maker, toaster, blender, eight-piece set of silverware and dinnerware, basic cooking spices, and all the gadgets and utensils you may need (corkscrew and antique ice cream scoop included!). 3 of the 4 bedrooms have spectacular lake views. Each bedroom has closet space and ensuite bathrooms with linens and bathroom essentials provided. Master bedroom has private office and desk for remote working.

Great View. Comfy Stay

The Hoover Cottage was just right for our family of 7 plus baby, for a long weekend. Everyone had plenty of room. We rented a boat from Tony at The Marina and enjoyed getting to know the lake. You will really enjoy this easy to get to, ready to unload and load, and comfortable to stay in cottage. It has everything you need.

Family Time in the Mountains on the Lake

We had a terrific time between remnants of hurricanes this year (August, 2021). Weather was glorious !! Lake was terrific !! Mountains were sublime !! Couldn’t ask for a better combination !

Another wonderful week!

We had another wonderful week at this lovely lake house! We enjoyed every aspect from the ease of communication, cleanliness upon arrival, comfortable beds and furnishings, and of course, the amazing location on Lake Toxaway. The house accommodated our small group of 4 with plenty of room if you have a larger group. Everyone was comfortable in their own space and we enjoyed cooking, game night, and TV in the common areas. We had nearly perfect weather to enjoy boating activities and nearby hikes. This was our second stay here and we can’t wait to come back! Thanks again! Lisa

The house is fantastic. It is just as it looks online. The views are beautiful.

The house is perfect. The master bedroom is amazing, large king size bed large closet and study area. The internet was great and tv's in every room. The kitchen is fully stocked and the table is large enough for a big family. We had such a great time and hope to come back next year. NOTE::be sure to get groceries before you head up the mountain.

This property was very nice. The kitchen was well equipped, the master bed was of high quality and comfort. The view from all areas of the home were great. The area is what you would expect from a mountain lake home. The fishing off the dock was not bad eithier until the weather caused a change. Overall we had a great time.

Nice, Cozy Cottage

We had a great stay at this Lake Toxaway home over the 2020 holidays. The place had just about everything you need, which was convenient given that the nearest store was 20-25 minutes away. It was cozy, warm and it had a nice view of Lake Toxaway. The property manager was responsive with our questions (TV is difficult to figure out). The other cottages around the property are close. No one was around when we were there but I suspect it is busy in the summer. I recommend the property.

Wonderful week!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lake Toxaway. The home was exactly as pictured, very clean, and had a lovely view of the lake. The location is fantastic, and we enjoyed boating, hiking and kayaking while there. Claudia was very responsive to any questions we had making our stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. We'd happily return for another stay!

We'll Be Going Back

The host was beyond accommodating, as we travelled here during a hurricane evacuation. The home is perfect size for a family with few kids, and the location on the lake is just perfect. I can't recommend this place enough.

Lovely, Simply Lovely!!!!

Couldn’t have asked for a better vacation home. We had everything we needed to spend our New Years with family. Kitchen was stocked with all the cooking necessities. Everything was clean and in excellent condition. The view of the lake was amazing. Will definitely stay here again. I’d like to visit during the summer when in season. The only con we found to this property was that the downstairs bedroom gets very cold at night. It would be great if there was a way to make it warmer. The heat wouldn’t make its way downstairs. Definitely recommend this property!!!!!

Amazing!

We have stayed in Lake Toxaway before but this home was the perfect location with the best views! Brought my young children and the house had everything we needed. The internet worked great and the smart TVs with access to Netflix and amazon were a huge plus! The host was quick to communicate and answer all of our questions. The house was so comfortable and peaceful we will definitely stay there again. Look no further you’ve found the perfect vacation rental in Toxaway.

The lake view is beautiful from the back of the house. There is a house about 10 ft away from this one and during our stay it was full of drunken college kids up all day and night, cursing enough where we wanted to keep the kids inside. They were sharing the same dock and since there is an unusable boat blocking our part of the dock we had to fish elsewhere. Kind of a waste since we just wanted to relax and fish. The house is average, 70s decor and lumpy carpet throughout, musty, Nice king bed. Small but they got creative with the loft and basement if you had extra kids in tow. Nice backyard, but again, we had drunken teenagers playing football in it for most of the time. Bring everything you need with you.The closest anything is 30 minutes away - which got very frustrating when batteries were missing from the remotes. The ‘dock’ is just the property wall so if you are looking to sit out on the water, this property isn’t for you. One thing I didn’t like was the food left in the house. Fridge full of open jars of things like pickles and sauces. Gross. Pantry full of their personal food. Personal pictures everywhere. Notes and cards and personal items on the counter. It felt like a violation to be there, like they stepped out the moment we came and will be back the second we leave.Didn’t feel like a clean-slate rental, but like I was rifling through her used mayo jar. Strange. I feel like the ad misrepresents what you get. Also, PLEASE, get some mosquito/bug spray. Bugs are horrible inside and out.

We had never been to Lake Toxaway before, and this house and the lake did not disappoint! It is very relaxing! The house is set up perfectly for renters with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms that are private spaces. There is a deck off the main living area, a porch off one of the bedrooms, and an outdoor sitting area with table and swing on the lower level. There is a place directly in front of the house to dock your rental boat, which is nice! Claudia, the owner, responds promptly to messages and is available if you need her for questions or recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and highly recommend this house to anyone!

Perfect mountain lake getaway! Great house, stunning scenery, can't wait to come back!

So happy we found this mountain gem! It's always been a dream of mine to stay at Lake Toxaway - such a famous mountain lake - and it didn't disappoint! The house was perfect for our family, plenty of room for us all to spread out with two large bedrooms on the main floor, a loft with really comfy beds, and a basement bedroom that opens right out onto a beautiful back porch with stunning lake views (and a swing for optimal book-reading!). We are big cooks, and the kitchen was very well appointed with literally everything we needed for big family meals. There was a big dining room table and another giant table on the downstairs porch that was perfect for lunch when the kids were wet from the lake. We were able to rent a boat one day from the lake's marina and and we also got stand-up paddle boards that the outfitter down the mountain delivered right to our porch - it was awesome to paddle around every day! The house had some giant tubes that were great to pull around with boat, and it also had giant rafts and fishing gear so we almost never left the lakeside. The other thing I LOVED is that there was so much to do my kids were unplugged and totally being kids! There is a stunning hike right in the Lake Toxaway area with a waterfall and swimming hole that we went to, we played board games and card games every night, and there were a zillion places to sit and read a book. My husband had to do a little work while we were there and the wi-fi worked all over so he could sit on the porch and watch the shinanigans outside without missing out a beat! We really loved this house, the lake, and the area and we are really looking forward to booking a long weekend this fall so we can see the leaves change and check out the local towns.

Nice area. Owner needs better communication and management skills.

Lovely home and area. House is well stocked but no lake toys as other homes seemed to have had. Internet didn’t work until 3rd day and owner was unresponsive. She was out of country and did not leave anyone locally to deal with. Finally her mother from FL called to help. We waisted so much time having to wait around for internet provider. This was very frustrating considering the cost to stay for a week and we were required to deal with the service person instead of owner. Also, the housekeeper showed an hour early while we were eating breakfast. Of course we felt obligated to let her come in and begin her work. The time she was given by the owner was earlier than the stated time of check out. It seems that the owner is not prepared for managing a high price rental and the expectations of her clients. The home is very nice and in a nice neighborhood. I will note that the bedroom with two queens is actually a loft. It worked for our group but if you have light sleepers this should be taken into account.
