We recently returned to the Grand Naniloa Hotel in 2025 after a wonderful stay in 2018. While the property still has its charms, it’s clear it’s seen better days. Extensive renovations are underway, and management provided disclosures and acknowledgment letters in our room, but other reviews are correct: much of the art is missing, and the property needs more care.
Highlights
The hospitality was excellent. Front desk staff, valet, and restaurant teams were warm and professional. The on-site restaurant remains a standout, offering exceptional dining. The grounds are beautiful, with Wi-Fi extending to seating areas by the water. I loved working from the cabanas while spotting sea turtles in the shallows—a magical experience. Kayak rentals are available, though we didn’t use them this time. The gym is well-equipped, including a Peloton bike with foot cages.
Practical Notes
Be prepared for a $100/night deposit charged upfront. This covers the $39/night resort fee and $25/night valet parking you'll pay (street parking is possible but inconvenient). Local kids often enjoy the pool and dock areas, which created special moments for our son but might not suit everyone.
Despite its current challenges, the hotel’s location and hospitality make it worth another visit—though we’ll wait until renovations are complete to fully enjoy its potential.
