I’ll start off by saying the staff are great, they really do their best with the hotel they were given to work with! The hotel does have a shuttle and the staff operating it (Melvin & Nancy) are wonderful and I have nothing but good to say about them.
Unfortunately, the hotel itself is needing some major work.
Starting off with the beds. The mattress is not nearly supportive enough and the long pillows aren’t nearly stuffed enough, which means when your head is on them the stuffing moves to the sides which leaves no stuffing under your head. This makes for a poor sleeping position. Even the firm pillows aren’t stuffed enough.
The windows in the rooms are ridiculously thin as you can hear absolutely everything that happens on the street outside the hotel. As the hotel is on a main road, that means every car passing by can be heard (especially at night). This again, makes for a very uncomfortable sleep at night. Between the bed and the sounds, we couldn’t sleep a minute.
Lastly, maybe this is our mistake in assuming, but from living in Toronto, downtown is usually the busy area and there’s lots to do around. This is the opposite of this hotel. While it is downtown, there isn’t much to do around the hotel and most things require driving. Again, the hotel does have a shuttle that will take you to and from the hotel, but it has to be within a 1.5 mile radius, that is kind of limited in options if you want to visit any malls or attractions (only the aquarium is close enough).
