Terrible facility and service

I’ve wrote to the hotel three weeks before the arrival and no reply at all. When arrived, you need to call for the shuttle bus, unless other brands, this hotel shared with some other small motels and has fixed schedule that sometime doesn’t meet your schedule. When we arrive hotel finally at 22:00, the front desk didn’t show any hospitality and I was just like talking to a robot. The worse part, there was thunder that night and all the power supplies all of sudden shut down. There was no flashlight available and none in the hotel can explain. The worse part came- they didn’t have emergency power supply so we carried 6 70lb luggages down from 3rd floor with kids… our trip was ruined even before it starts ( we transit via Houston) and the hotel stuffs didn’t care or ever show any emphasis or even try to provide any more information.

I stayed at this hotel for just one night as a layover for my next flight in the morning, unfortunately, I can’t say I had a good experience. I called the hotel when I arrived at IAH in order to be picked up since this property offers free shuttle service to and from the airport. However, no one responded despite calling three times. Thankfully, I was able to get to get to the shuttle a while later at the designated Hotel shuttles arrival spot. When I got out of the shuttle, the driver hounded me about giving a tip. I understand very well that this type of work relies very much on tips, however, tips are NOT mandatory and the last thing anyone wants to do is tip someone who is outright hounding you to give them money when it’s a service provided by the hotel. Then when I arrived at property late night because and there was nobody at the lobby to help heck me in, seems to be understaffed as there was only one employee I saw during my entire stay.The key to the room did not work and had to return back down to the lobby to get a new key. I stayed a grand total of 8 hours, but everything seemed to go wrong. I travel a lot and I don’t think I’ve ever had an experience this bad with a hotel in a very long time. This review is meant as caution for people thinking of staying here.

The location was good. Everything was good except for the breakfast. The scrambled eggs were not good. They looked like they were frozen round egg “patties” and not scrambled eggs made in the hotel. We also had some trouble with the airport shuttle. Apparently the hotel shares a shuttle with other hotels. We reserved seats for 9:00am and there was a couple that pushed in even though they had not reserved their seats. One woman had to sit on her husband’s lap! The driver asked me to wait for the next shuttle even though my wife and all of our luggage was on this van. The hotels using this service needs to coordinate the bookings better!

My only gripe was the long wait (30 mins?) for check-in. But everything else was good to excellent. I was especially pleased that the hotel was quiet, surprising because this was Good Friday and there were many people in the hotel.
