Off grid where elegance meets environmentally friendly. Farm feel combines with funky. Think Walden in the woods collaborating with Cacti in the country. Family friendly and extroverts welcome. Or shut the door and hole yourself in. Just know the roosters and their girls will still serenade you. Children playing, gardens growing, a clothesline blowing. No flush *no rush.
Chicken poop.
Not the Best Western, but a western vibe with a woman’s touch. Mother Nature, mother Mary and her shared space.
The space
This space is it’s own separate tiny house. It is slightly OFF GRID with a composting toilet. It sits right next to our own house so the outside areas are all shared. You can hang on the hammock or host might be on the hammock. There is a fire pit under shelter to use, but you may see host pop out to mow the yard as well. And above all else you will totally see chickens, cats and the big White Dog. And the chickens poop a lot. So before you complain, be forewarned and watch your step. Although check out our step guarding owl who is doing a good job of keeping the poop off the stairs at least. Speaking of which, about five stairs to enter space. Also the vintage stove’s oven does not work but stove top does!
Guest access
Outside awning area with chairs and fire pit. Hammock. Path down to the creek. Driveway and sign indicating where to park.
Other things to note
Extra: Book a massage with our talented neighbor in advance and make it a whole You-cation. Photo with business card in listing.
Notes: We built this place ourselves and it is not perfect. We try to keep it clean and fresh and tidy, but if spotless and fresh off the top contractors lot is what you are after we probably aren’t your spot. Our sheets are mismatching but clean. We use towels and rags for clean up and don’t provide paper towels and Kleenex. We have a coffee pot and microwave and usually have some ground coffee on hand. There is no shower but a bathtub with a handheld golden shower head for washing up. The tub is old and stained, the fridge is old, the cabinets are used, we are obsessed with cacti. Free range chickens guarantee that we have no ticks, but as for other bug, we live in the country….there are likely bugs. There won’t be mice, though, because again we have five million cats and chickens.:) Okay, not quite that many.
We aren’t a fan of highly scented products so we use non scented laundry soap and dish soaps. No glade plug in or scentsy burners, but we do have an essential oil diffuser.
Drive slowly and carefully. Animals and kids. No drunk or high partying on property. Family next door.
