Colorado Mountain Retreat - Spacious Cabin

The cabin is nestled in the beautiful national forests surrounding St. Mary’s Glacier in the St. Mary’s Colorado. The natural setting allows for all sorts of outdoor activities. In the winter you can enjoy backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding. When the snow melts in May, opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, 4x4 off-roading, backpacking and camping abound. The base of St. Mary's Glacier hiking course is quarter mile away.
Also there are two private lakes in the neighborhood that can be fished. Two fishing badges provided to fish in two private and stocked lakes!
Walking distance to the glacier hike and fishing. If it gets a
little chilly, light a fire in the outdoor large fire pit, or head inside, light a fire in the cast iron wood stove.

Peaceful and spacious cabin with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and great room with wood burning fireplace. On the top level is the master bedroom with a king size bed. Jack and Jill bathroom with second bedroom, which has full size bed. On the main level is the great room, kitchen, nook and 2nd full bathroom. Third bedroom located on main level with a full size bed. Wi-Fi internet, satellite TV, and variety of books provided. Enjoy stargazing in the evening through our large windows in the great room and balcony off the Master bedroom. There is a laundry room in the basement.

The nearby quaint town of Idaho Springs boasts unique shops and is rich in frontier and mining history. Try your luck at panning for gold after taking in a tour at one of the local mines. Run the rapids of Clear Creek with one of the several rafting companies right in Idaho Springs. Afterwards, soak in the hot springs and baths of Indian Springs. Or you can just spend the day shopping and visiting some of the several museums around town that are interesting for the entire family. There are several restaurants in Idaho Springs as well. BeauJo’s world famous pizza is an excellent choice or you can try one (or two) of the microbrews at Tommyknocker’s.

Please get your food supplies on your way up to the cabin as the closest store is about 10 miles away in the town of Idaho Springs.
Close to Loveland and Arapahoe Basin Ski Resorts.
The Georgetown loop railroad is only a 20 minute drive.
Close but not too close to Downtown Denver, which is 50 minutes away.

Pond Hockey team stayed for tournament in Georgetown. Very simple process for check in and check out. Very tight fit for 6 men to stay in this house but it worked out. We definitely felt the 10000ft coming from our homes at sea level. :) I would definitely be interested in staying at this house in the summer time with my family. It would be very fun to explore the hiking trails during the summer.

The cabin location and scenery was amazing. Gina was very communicative and responsive with any questions I had. The cabin was very clean and matched the description and pictures posted. I would definitely come back here in the winter with all the snow.

Property was what we were looking for, secluded, in the mountains, yet easy to get to a variety of attractions and activities. A significant irritant because it could be heard throughout the entire cabin was an extremely noisy refrigerator the entire stay.

Everything was great, it would have been really nice if the hot tub was up and running :). I think the only issues we had was the power went out 3 times, but I am guessing that had nothing to do with the house. Would definitely go back again!

My friends and I stayed in this cabin home and we absolutely had the best time! There aren’t pictures of the backyard attached but it is definitely a vibe. We spent most of our 3 day weekend in the back yard playing games and cooking up delicious meals. The beautiful hike to St.Mary’s glacier (only a 8 min walk from the house) is one of the highlights of the proximity of the home. We loved how secluded the location was and how spread out the houses were as well. There is also a near by private lake up the street that our friends enjoyed fishing at. The home included everything we needed for this stay and the host was very nice and replied quickly when we had questions. Overall a very good place to stay at, I highly recommend!

This property is so tranquil. Wonderful hosts and the home is very well stocked with everything you may need. The sound of the wind thru the pines and the rushing stream brings such a lovely atmosphere. You will not be disappointed staying here!

We came so our almost 13yr old daughter could see snow and visit fairplay. (Huge south park fans).. The house is great for the 3 of us. The dual coffee pot.. only the k cup worked. There's a leak in the wall but wasnt effected by it and the water was either ice cold or super hot.. but otherwise perfect.. great communication with host since we were/are snowed in for 3 extra days. They even came to blow the driveway.. great plus 🙂

The property was very nice. We were not able to use the hot tub as it was broken ,the oven didn’t work only the cooktop. The DVD skips continuously the bed in the master bedroom sages terribly one side and the coffee maker only works on the K cop side

Everything we needed to experience the solitude of a mountain home. Located within walking distance of St.Mary's Glacier hike, which offers some of the most amazing views for intermediate hikers. The house seems to be getting a hot tub installed at the moment, and once it's finished, that will elevate this property's status. Thanks for sharing this amazing property!

Me and two of my friends stayed at this property for three days to ski at winter park and even though it is a little bit of a drive, it was worth it! Right as we arrived, the house was clean, had games and a card, thanking us for staying there. We had a great experience here and 100% recommend this!

We had a great time staying in this beautiful house. We came in winter and it was just amazing. Gina was very helpful and answered all my questions. The house was super clean and very well set. We were wanting a family getaway while we visited our CU son from Texas. This exceeded our expectations! We were welcome to this comfortable and accommodating home with wine and chocolates and a sweet card. The weather could not have been more perfect. Though we were sad to leave the day before snow was expected (the day after Labor Day). The location was better than expected as it was walking distance and a great hike to St. Mary’s Glacier! Being among just a few residents, it felt remote without being isolated.. The first morning I woke early to watch the sunrise and was elated to see a mother and baby moose in the creek just across the road. First time to see a moose even though I have been to Alaska and Canadian Rockies! The only issues were electricity went out for much of the day one day but since we spent most of our time outdoors it had little impact on us. The kitchen was mostly well stocked but we could have used a few more serving bowls as we cooked our entire stay but this was a small issue and we made due. Our stay was overall a great experience for all of us and we all agreed we would definitely want to come back!

Gina’s property is so great! Just the road to get there sets the scene for an amazing mountain getaway! The property is squeaky clean, so cozy and she’s thought of every detail! We escaped our kids and the big city, and could not have been any more comfortable or welcomed. The property is secluded, but still close enough to some really good eats, trails and lakes! We would highly recommend this property and would love to visit again in the future!

I highly recommend this property. The property was clean and offered all the amenities of home. Everything was as promised on the website. We really enjoyed cooking meals together in the kitchen and playing board games after a long day enjoying the St Marcy Glacier trail (walking distance from house) and paddle boarding on one of the private lakes. Sometimes when you are “roughing it” in the mountains it is nice to take a warm shower and sleep in a comfortable bed. This property exceeded our expectations.

Owner is extremely easy to deal with. We had a great time. Location is better than expected. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. There are neighbors close, but you would never know. I truly give this place a 5 star. We will definitely be back. St Marys Glacier is breathtaking and a must hike when you come.
