Hidden Mountain Retreat with a Traditional Irori Hearth
Escape to a peaceful private house tucked away in the rural mountains of Niyama, South Shinshu—your perfect retreat in nature.
Located at an altitude of 900 meters, the air stays cool even in summer. There's no need for air conditioning, making it a refreshing escape from the city heat.
The house features a spacious entrance and a large wooden-floored room with a traditional irori (sunken hearth), where you can enjoy cooking hot pot or grilling fish and meat—even on cold or rainy days. The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing meals with large groups.
There are two 10-tatami mat Japanese-style rooms that can be separated by sliding fusuma doors, making the space ideal for two families or multi-generational groups.
There is one toilet and one shower room.
Please note: there is no bathtub. If you'd like to soak in a hot bath, we recommend the day-use onsen “Sakura no Yu,” just a 15-minute drive away.
A large athletic field is only a 1-minute walk from the house—perfect for training camps, baseball, soccer, or running practice.
The location offers easy access to both the Central and Southern Alps, and it's about an hour's drive from Matsumoto City.
