“We had a very relaxing stay at this property which was perfect for us - an elderly couple. We had everything we needed and fantastic views. We stayed 4 days and cooked every night. The kitchen was very well stocked. The water pressure could have been better, but we managed. It was so quiet & peaceful that we hated to leave!”

“We had a great time. Everything was as listed. House was very clean and comfortable. We liked it so much that we booked another stay. House is close to two nice State Parks where we hiked and tubed! Fast responses from the host. Highly recommend!”

“Overall, the house was fabulous and exactly as described. Things worth mentioning 1st- The kitchen was well stocked, they offered 3 crockpots, blender, large toaster oven, plenty of dishes and utensils, Kcup and coffee pot option and a nice size cupboard next to the refrigerator to store all your food and paper products. 2nd-plenty of hand and body towels along with washcloths. 3rd-the game room is perfect for the teens including all the classic games for us older folks!4th-The outside area is……

“Great Lakefront House. The room layout is unique but it worked for our group (3 families in town for a travel baseball tournament). Great access to fishing and kayaks and plenty of room to have a group meal. The kids and families had a great time.”

“My siblings and I were there from Missouri for my father’s Celebration of Life. The Dan River property was just what the doctor ordered: peaceful and serene. The property is a perfect private hideaway with room to move and think. The home housed myself and my five siblings comfortably…very homey with loads of charm and character. I hope this property is available every time I plan to visit the Ararat area!”

“The house is great! Very, very clean. It has everything that you need. The view from the back porch is truly unbelievable. The property is secluded and very quiet, but 15 minutes from Meadows of Dan and Chateau Morrisette Winery and Restaurant. Communication with the host was great! Without a doubt, this is the most peaceful place we have stayed at.”

“Beautiful lake house with a gorgeous view. The weather was too chilly to enjoy the outdoor space fully but the dock and porches are awesome! The house is super clean and we love the decor. Everything looked fresh and new. A few tricky things- the master is down a very narrow spiral staircase. It’s difficult to carry coffee or anything really and walk down the steps. And the noise from upstairs travels down the staircase since there isn’t a door to close for the master. The bathroom on the main……

“Most food options are 20-30 mins away, but there are some good options. Contender's pizza and arcade was a good choice for us. Overall we had a great stay! We'd definitely stay here again! ”

“Our family loved the cabin and lake view. We were in town to see VT beat UVA….albeit very chilly….it was a great three days. Monica could not have been easier to work with. Overall wonderful experience!”
