Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire property as well as shared community pool and kayak dock. Walking trails, meadow.
The Neighborhood:
Irvington: Described as "Tiny but Tony", and "Manhattan meets Mayberry", this upscale yet low-key town has great restaurants, friendly people, and a wide array of community events. Experience small town living at its best: on the water.
Vineyard Grove: Salted Skies is in Vineyard Grove, a community of 19 charming and private "tent" houses in Irvington. Community pool with wisteria arbor, short nature trail connects cottage to pool and kayak launch, walk to town, bike to Tide's Inn, 5 minutes by car to White Stone, with waterfront tiki bar and upscale restaurant, 7 minutes by car to Kilmarnock, with an assortment of shops, restaurants, and community events. Check The Rivah Visitor's Guide (at house or available around town) for a complete list of all there is to do and see.
The Northern Neck: Explore the entire Northern Neck during your visit! Some of our favorites are Hughlett Point Nature Preserve on the Chesapeake Bay, Hickory Hollow Nature Trails, Sail and Surf Adventures sailing charters, dining riverfront at Merroir in Topping, the Irvington Farmer's Market (First Saturdays May-November), Taste By the Bay and Urbanna Oyster Festival in November, the Polar Express in Urbanna at the holidays, the Irvington July 4th parade, and so much more. Digital welcome guide provided upon booking to help plan your trip. And reach out to us with any questions on what to do and see!
Getting Around:
Walk to cute shops and great restaurants in town. You do need a car in this delightfully rural area, but try getting around by boat too! There are many options for getting out on the water. Our Welcome Guide provided upon booking will help you plan the best vacation, from fishing trips to sailing charters, power boat cruises to nearby boat launches.
Other Things to Note:
OYSTER DELIVERY: We partner with a Steamboat Wharf Oyster Company, a family-owned business dedicated to growing a damn good oyster. They take pride in offering high-quality, sustainably sourced Top Shelf oysters. More information on this special service in our Welcome Guide when you book!
RENTAL AGREEMENT: Rental agreement required and sent separately. We greatly appreciate if you fill this out promptly and thank you for doing so. Access instructions will be sent the morning of check-in, so long as we have received the agreement. Many thanks for your cooperation!

Heads up! Jellyfish have been spotted around the docks at this time of year, so please use extra caution when swimming or wading in the water. We also recommend wearing water shoes for added protection. Stay safe and enjoy the water!
