I recently stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Izmir for a wedding and expected a comfortable experience from a four-star hotel. While the staff was friendly, the facilities well-maintained, and the breakfast good, a major issue with room temperature control significantly impacted my stay.
Despite unusually warm weather (27°C during the day, 15°C at night), the centralized AC was still in winter mode, heating the room instead of cooling it. Since the hotel is near a busy motorway, opening the window meant dealing with excessive noise, while keeping it closed made the room unbearably hot. After multiple calls to the front desk, no solution was offered, and my wife and I had a sleepless night.
I understand seasonal AC transitions can be challenging, but a four-star hotel should offer alternatives like fans or room reassignment. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
Overall, while I appreciated the hospitality and maintenance, the lack of flexibility in handling basic comfort needs left me disappointed. I would only consider staying here again if temperature control was managed more effectively in the future.
