Escape to a coastal retreat at 'Serenity by the Sea,' a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom vacation rental house in Swansboro! The property boasts 2,500 square feet of living space and accommodates up to 8 guests for a memorable getaway to this historic seaside town. Spend an afternoon on the private dock and watch the sunset over the peaceful water, or venture into town to check out the numerous shops and boutiques. If it's outdoor fun you're looking for, Swansboro has plenty in store for you!

At 'Serenity by the Sea,' the fully equipped kitchen features stainless steel appliances and new amenities. Enjoy the ample counterspace as you prepare a delicious home-cooked meal to enjoy at the eat-in kitchen table, which seats 4.

Additional dining space is available in the formal dining area, which seats up to 6 guests. Just next to the formal dining area, the formal living area has a gas fireplace for added warmth during a cozy night at home.

The family room just off the kitchen features a comfortable couch and armchairs, as well as a flat-screen cable TV. Windows line the wall, filling the room with bright natural light each day!

Spread out and spend some time in the den, which offers more seating and another flat-screen cable TV. The decor is tasteful and cozy, ensuring that you’ll feel right at home during your stay.

When you’re ready to retire, each of the 3 bedrooms feature queen-sized beds and are tastefully decorated with charming accents and bedding. The primary bedroom features a lovely chandelier and an en-suite bathroom!

Sure to be a favorite spot during your stay, the front deck is equipped with outdoor furniture and a ceiling fan, and offers a stunning view out towards the Intracoastal Waterway. Just across the street, you’ll find a private dock with 2 chairs! Grab a cup of coffee or a good book and watch the sunrise from your private, waterfront perch.

10 yr anniversary retreat
We so enjoyed the quiet, quaint towns in and around Swansboro. The views from this home are gorgeous and so peaceful. Adorable home on the waterfront with a short walk to the cute town shops and restaurants. There’s a fantastic coffee/ice cream shop overlooking the water with several waterfront restaurants just blocks from this home. Lovely stay! MaryAnn was wonderful and so kind!

What a great location!
We loved our time in Swansboro. Mary Ann was so helpful and easy to get ahold of. Within walking distance of old downtown, with plenty of restaurants and live music to choose from. The view across from the house is absolutely amazing. Coffee on her dock, watching the dolphins swim by as the sun came up was an awesome experience. Highly recommend this spot!

I loved this place so much it was so clean right on the water we were lucky enough to have it rain in the evenings so we sat on the front porch and watched the boats going out to fish very relaxing, will be coming back soon!

Peaceful week at the coast
Quiet week overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway in Swansboro. Great front porch and dock for relaxing and watching the boats (and dolphins) go by. Walking distance to several restaurants for takeout meals. Quiet neighborhood and easy parking. Host was very responsive and helpful without being intrusive. We would choose to come here again.

The dock was great , cool breezy. Front porch was fabulous for sunrise and just relaxing watching water activity. The house was so cute. The colors were bright and welcoming. Kitchen was fully equipped although I do recommend a small blender on site. Location couldn’t have been better. We were in walking distance to kayak rentals, restaurants, and a small little brew house. Def would stay there again!

A perfect house in a perfect location
My wife & I and 2 other couples stayed here for 4 nights.Didn't want to leave. Mary Ann, the owner, is great. The house is very comfortable and clean. The location, on the water with private dock, can't be beat. We'd all walk a few blocks to eat supper & go the the martini/dessert bar. Great shops are also within walking distance ( a few minutes ). The house is in a very quiet peaceful neighborhood with pleasant friendly neighbors. The 6 of us are tentatively planning another vacay there in a few months.

Serenity by the Sea is lovely.
The home is just so cute, The decor is quirky and fun! So many homey touches that you would never have in a hotel or condo. The view from the front porch is just breathtaking. Plenty of room so everyone had privacy, too.

Great house overall. The site indicated two kayaks were available at the house and I even confirmed via message before booking, but there is only one double kayak. That should be updated on the listing. Also, the cleaning crew tried to come in two hours before checkout and seemed reluctant to leave when we indicated we were not ready to leave the house yet. Otherwise, the house was great and location was too! Quick drive to beaches.

We rented Maryann's house to celebrate my mother-in-law's 90th birthday. We found it immaculate and well stocked. Maryann was a terrific resource both before and during our visit. She gave us info on beach wheelchair rentals (Emerald Isle Fire Dept) and a beach wheelchair ramp at the Emerald Isle Public beach. This allowed us to get mom to the beach everyday of our visit. As lovely as the house is, our favorite part was the front porch. We were out there morning, noon and night - entertained by passing dolphins and boats. Maryann - thank you for sharing your lovely home and all your personal attentiveness.

Fabulous Stay in Swansboro, NC
Spent six wonderful days in "Serenity by the Sea". The house is charming on the outside and much larger inside than it appears. It is nicely decorated and well maintained. The orientation of the house allows you to watch the sunrise and and sunset from the comfortable front porch.

Beautiful view and fun time with the family
Everything we needed. We had small grandchildren at the house and was surprised to find a toy closet. The house had a lot of breakable items which in the beginning made me nervous, but kept everyone out of the front room. It worked out. With my Son and his family moving around while he is in the Marine corps family time is valuable. Thank you so much Mary Ann for sharing your home and view.

Family getaway
We rented the house while we were in the area for a family wedding. The house was exactly as described & pictured. The dock had been damaged by the hurricane so we couldn't use it. I'm glad we didn't have little kids. Mary Ann had the house decorated with all her pretty antiques. Definitely wouldn't be kid friendly. The Flotilla (boat parade decorated with Christmas lights). Was a nice surprise. We sat on the front porch and watched it. Mary Ann had made us a pie (it was Thanksgiving weekend). Thought that was very sweet. Only things I found kind of strange was that there was food in the cabinets & some in the fridge (which she told us to help ourselves). There were used shampoo & conditioner bottles along with used bars of soap in the bathtubs. Kind of felt like we were house sitting. One of the air mattresses didn't have the plug so only one was usable. We didn't let none of this not enjoy our stay. We would consider staying here again

Loved it!!!
The property was clean and had everything one could need. This is a quaint, quiet community where everyone waves to their neighbors. The views of the ICW were amazing. Mary Anne was such a delight!! The shops nearby are great and there is live music on Sunday nights. I recommend one eat at least once at The Icehouse restaurant. Delicious food with great service. My family and I enjoyed the dock and kayaking. We would definitely go back again!!
