We loved our stay at Amelia Island so much we extended; originally a quick getaway for my husbands birthday weekend and from the check-in to drivers on the tram service everyone was in great spirits and made us feel welcome and excited to be vacationing here. We stayed at the sandcastle villas and walked right out to the stirs to the beach and were steps away from the pool; amazing sunset and sunrise! We had to be moved for the extension we requested the next night but the staff was amazing the manager recommended we check in early in the morning to get our reservation processing in the queue and Deidra was heaven sent and made the whole process seamless; beachwood villas was right across the street and the property was beautiful, peaceful, and getting to the beach was a little walk but so pleasant. If you’re thinking of booking don’t think anymore just do it you’ll have a great time!! The drinks and food and spa are all great!!

Let me start by saying that the property, as a whole, was outstanding. Everything about it was representative of the Omni name. The staff was respectful & helpful, though we did have a difficult time contacting the shuttle one afternoon. The landscaping was lush & green. The beaches were clean. The pool area, breathtaking. Now, let me explain my low rating...the room that we stayed in for 4 nights was equivalent to an old Holiday Inn motel room. One king-sized bed, which did sleep ok. The usual array of poorly made furniture. The artwork was Dollar Store, at best. The bathroom lighting was horrid, the mirror was tiny, the glass vessel sink was awkward to use, and there was literally one tiny trash can in the entire suite. I know that may sound petty, but I'm talking Omni Resort now. I didnt get a $99/night rate. But the final straw for us was...there was no ice machine. I don't mean in the room, or even on the 5th floor. I mean in the entire building! When we called desk services, we were told that we could drive to the main hotel to get a bucket of ice! Imagine being at a sunny beach in Florida, with no ice for your drink! Come on, Omni. You can surely do better than that. If you plan on going to the Villas on Amelia stay in the main hotel. You will love it. But if you decide to stay in one of the lesser villas, bring a Yeti cooler.

When booking at the Villas, we were unsure of where our place would be. there are several Villas in the area. We were assigned to the Tennis Villas which were nearly a mile to the beach and the Omni hotel. Luckily it was easy to either drive and park near the main resort or take the shuttle. Now that I have been there, I have a better understanding of the layout and where I would want to stay. Our villa itself was very nice. It had a full kitchen, dining area and living room. The bedroom was separate and a very nice bathroom as well. The only problem was the water pressure in the bathroom sinks. It was basically a slow, low drizzle. The maintenance worker came and took the aerator off while we were there and it was better. Our unit had a separate pool as well, but it was nothing compared to what the hotel pool and beach area had. We would drive over every day and enjoy the big pools. Overall, it was a beautiful area and I would definitely go again.

Staff at many places were not friendly. We booked a Villa and they would not do anything for service really. We could have paid for housekeeping?! We had to call if trash needed taken out, call for towels. That was disappointing for what we paid.

We loved the resort. Our villa was a different story. The furniture was old and in need of replacement. The mattress of the master felt as if it was a box spring. It was very uncomfortable to sleep on. I loved the location but will choose a villa owned by the resort rather than a private owner in the future.

I enjoyed my stay (one night) in one of their villas, separate from the hotel. There's a lot to take in due to its size; dining locations, facilities, villas etc. Seems very family orientated with optional scheduling for all ages. The rooms were comfortable with amazing views from the balcony. I ate a delicious breakfast and lunch on the grounds, a true dining experience.
