“While it was a hike up the hill from the train station, stepping inside was a stylish step back in time, with its 1930s theme throughout and a lobby and bar that look like film sets. My room, surrounded by velvet curtains and with a curved bedhead, leaned into the theme, however, the 21st century was evident in the tablet through which you managed the services. There was a work desk, espresso machine – with pods restocked by housekeeping through the tablet – TV, free WiFi and open wardrobe……
