Picture yourself vacationing in this magnificent and upscale 6,000 square foot oceanfront home. The stunning house is comprised of 4 bedrooms and 4½ baths with a variety of features including an atrium entry with cathedral ceilings, skylights, a large living room, delightful family room, convenient indoor and outdoor dining, and a game room with a fully equipped bar. You will enjoy a spacious, open floor plan, with all but the master bedroom on one single level. Benefit from the heated swimming pool with a beautiful waterfall.

Only steps away from a private sandy beach, the short stroll along the oceanfront leads you to a reef-protected beach cove lagoon which is suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and playing in the sand. Abundant tide pools dot the lava rock shelf fronting the homes in the area. Beach chairs are provided for your leisure. Enjoy the turtles, dolphins, and whales!

The splendid property is located in the prestigious, gated and 24-hour security-guarded community in Kailua-Kona, situated directly facing the deep sapphire blue waters of Kona Bay. You can walk to the tennis courts or into Kailua-Kona for entertainment, dining, and shopping. Just a few minutes’ drive to the south are the world-famous Kona coffee plantations, snorkeling bays of Keahou and Kealakekua, and historic sites including the City of Refuge and the Captain Cook Monument. There are several golf courses, play fields, movie theaters, and other recreations in Kailua-Kona within a few minutes’ drive. The sandy swimming beaches and resort areas of Hualalai, Waikoloa, Mauna Lani and Mauna Kea are an easy 20-45 minute drive up the Kohala coast.

KITCHEN - The gourmet kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and utensils. Just bring your food!

GAME ROOM/BAR - Conveniently stocked with ice maker, wet bar, beverage fridge, glassware, blender, game table and games and books.

ACCESSIBILITY - The kitchen and dining room are elevated a few steps but there is a ramp from the pool deck to the kitchen which makes the entire lower level with pool, patio, living room, den, bar/game room, 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms all very accessible.

Our stay at the Dolphin House was amazing. There was lots of room for our family and the open living style was beautiful. The outside pool area was incredible and we ate all our meals at the outside table. The view from the house is breathtaking. We would definitely stay at The Dolphin house again.

The property was clean and a great location! All the amenities you need. Near Keahlia Kona for shopping and great food. Also not far to travel to Hilo, volcano National Park, or up the west coast.

Beautiful Property and Spectacular Views

We booked this house for a family vacation that included our 2 adult children and their spouses, as well as our 15 month old granddaughter. The communication with the owners was excellent. The property is even better than the photos! The minute we walked in and viewed the ocean beyond the sliding glass doors, we were in love! The layout of the house is perfect in that it allows private spaces for each of the couples and we enjoyed the entire second floor bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed many meals from the lovely table facing the ocean. Sunsets were spectacular! We had two pre-approved vendors given to us by Greg and Michelle (a baby equipment rental company and a private chef), both were excellent! I cant say enough about our great experience! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!

Wonderful family vacation

Beautiful, spacious, centrally located oceanfront home with outstanding views of the ocean, crashing waves and sunsets. Close to grocery stores, tennis and community garden. Michelle, the property manager was very helpful. Our only recommendation is that a new mattress is badly needed in the main bedroom and screens on the patio doors to keep out the mosquitoes at night. We would definitely stay here again.

Great spot

Beautiful views. The kids enjoyed the pool, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed (pots, pans, storage containers, foil, etc) and the BBQ was a big hit. Decor was a little dated, but was still very nice. We'll be booking again.

So lovely!

We had a fabulous stay at this lovely house on the water! The house is open, bright, and the views are stunning. The pool was perfect temperature, there were plenty of chaises and towels and beach supplies. Each bedroom was nicely decorated with en-suite bathrooms perfect for various family groups, and the AC in the bedrooms made sleeping so comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with any dish, pot, appliance, utensil, tool, storage, glassware you could imagine. And some basic condiments and spices. We would definitely book again!

Property was as described. With the doors open, the breeze was beautiful. Family room was a little warm without the breeze. Purchased 2 box fans from the local Walmart which helped. Home is beautifully decorated and very well stocked. Needless to say, the view is amazing. Great layout of the home offered our family enough space to spread out when needed. g

Amazing home with beautiful views!!

The Dolphin House was simply amazing! The pictures and words do not do it justice. The home is in a great location to everything. The kitchen is very well stocked as well as the bathrooms and plenty of towels for everyone. We had 9 in our group and there was plenty of room for everyone to have there own space. We ate at the outside table for every meal and the views are amazing!!

Multi-generational Family Vacation

This home is beautiful and wonderful for a multigenerational vacation! Nine of us from 67yo to 4 yo stayed for a week here and the home is set up beautifully for us. The layout allowed for nice privacy with separate bedroom/bath areas for folks. The main space downstairs has a wide view to the shore and large bank of windowed slider doors that opens to a wonderful long table on the patio where we ate all our meals. The small but very adequate pool was used alot. This home had a very well supplied kitchen and was a core piece to a very fun vacation for us all. We even saw whales several times from the patio. The property manager and owner reached out with helpful vacation planning resources ahead of time and made themselves available if needed during our stay. I would love to go back!

Amazing week in the Dolphin House

Celebrated our 25 th wedding anniversary with our family, in the Dolphin House. Renewed our vows on the patio with the ocean in the background. The house was perfect for our family of 8 adults and three grands under 6. We were in the pool and at the huge patio table each night for dinner together. The study was perfect for playing cards while still being near the rest of the family and everyone had a quiet space to retreat when a nap was in order. The neighborhood was gorgeous and, both the beach nearby and the rocks in front of the property were great places to explore. Air conditioning was a MUST and the main areas of the home are not air conditioned which was a little uncomfortable so we spent a lot of time in the pool. There are also bars and coffee shops within walking distance and could even walk to town just over a mile. Saw dolphins and a cruise ship right from the patio and the sunsets were amazing! All in all it was a perfect week spent in this beautiful home.

Perfect family retreat in Kona

The dolphin house made our family trip. It is perfect and was great for all ages. There’s too many amazing things about the house to fit in one review. The pool was a great temperature, the outdoor table was massive, and watching the sunset while the waves crashed on the lava rocks was unreal! The house is well stocked and Michelle was so responsive and resolved our only issue in ~15min. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. Thank you Michelle and Greg! We loved our stay and can’t wait to come back!

Magical place

Gorgeous house has everything you need — spectacular views, cathedral ceilings, comfortable beds, fully loaded kitchen with everything, lots of space for being together or having some privacy, lovely pool, awesome grill — great accommodations. Michelle was super responsive and thoughtful. Ordered groceries ahead of time and had them delivered — really a treat and a way to start the vacation in a relaxing way. Thanks to Karina! Kona Paradise

We had a wonderful 8 day stay at the Dolphin House! The view was beautiful and we spent every evening watching the sunset from the pool or the lanai. Dinners for our group of 9 were perfect at the outdoor table. Kitchen was well appointed. Loved the separate bar with ice maker. All bedrooms were very nice and we appreciated that they all have en-suite bathrooms. The master suite upstairs was pure luxury with a beautiful view. Can’t beat listening to the waves at night. If we weren’t out snorkeling and sightseeing we were outside on the large lanai and in the pool. If the occasion presents itself we will be back. Mahalo!

Hawaiian Paradise!

The Dolphin House is so much more than can be conveyed in the VRBO description and pictures! The perfect setting for our extended family of ten to celebrate a milestone anniversary! Our week long stay was more sublime than we could have imagined! Our four grandchildren wished they could stay forever. Greg and Michelle are rapidly responsive to any questions you may have which makes your stay carefree.

Hard To Leave Paradise Perfection

All the 5 star reviews are accurate! The location is perfection, close to everything, and has the best sunset views of all the houses along Kona Bay Dr. Everyday we got up early to enjoy the peaceful view and watch boats go by (including massive cruise ships), swim in the heated pool, walk up and down the wall/walkway, and explore tide pools out on the lava rocks. The crashing waves are magnificent! Dolphin House has everything you could want or need: very comfortable beds plus two air mattresses, tons of beach and bath towels, beach chairs and mats, pool noodles, three beach umbrellas (a necessity) and even various sizes of water shoes which are needed out on the rocks and some beaches. The kitchen is well stocked and has endless cookware and dishes, although we couldn’t find plastic cups for the pool area. Electricity is extremely expensive in Hawaii so many homes don’t have AC but DH does. We were there in hot June so were grateful it was offered for the bedrooms and happy to pay extra for the comfort. Worth every cent! Beware, Hawaii has some unique creatures, some harmless and cute, some not so much, so be careful walking with bare feet and use bug repellent outside. The owners/managers are super responsive. Michelle answers immediately and takes any concern very seriously. They don’t live on the island but use numerous local services so any issue can be solved quickly. Our eight days went by way too fast and everyone in our four generation group was sad to leave!

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay Dolphin home

Our family of 8 (11-74) had so much fun in Hawaii. Dolphin home has exceptional comfortable bedrooms, clean, pantry with amenities. Grocery store near by. The warm pool with fountain looks out on the ocean. Beautiful home with attention to details and owner very available. Thank you for a wonderful family vacation.

Incredible property, felt like home, comfortable, and stocked!

The home was just amazing, very open and large, perfect for myself, my husband, and grown children. 8 of us in all. VERY glad we made the decision for this home versus a hotel when traveling with 8 adults. Cooking wise: Costco worked out great, but there are other markets. We probably spent 600-800 in all for food for 8 adults for 7+ days. Every pot, pan, utensil (except a whisk!) was available as well as many spices we didn't have to buy. Pool - amazing. Grounds - amazing. Lava rocks by the water aren't necessarily good for jumping in, but plenty of swimming areas nearby. The waves crashing on the rocks were spectacular and never got old. Towels - no idea how they were so soft, but absorbent. Washer/dryer was top of the line and used frequently. Memorable trip and home. Thank you Greg and Michelle. :)
