“Absolutely loved our stay in the remote part of the west coast. We were happy to stay compose to home as it’s such a beautiful spot surrounded by great lawns for cricket and frisbee and amazing rocks to find along the river that runs along the back of the properly. House was warm and offered all the comforts of home. The fire bath under the stars was pretty special. We’d love to come back! ”

“The property itself could not have been better - easy to find and access after a long day's driving, warm and comfortable. The surrounds could not have been more disappointing. We knew from several previous days of disappointment that it was shoulder season on the West Coast, but could you please not pretend that local restaurants are open until 10pm when they laugh at anybody asking for dinner at 8pm. I mean we had learned by Monday that 10pm clearly was not true, but we foolishly assumed……

“Lovely cosy villa - as it’s name suggests right on the Hokitika river. Clean, comfortable, and nice and quiet - and the powerful hot shower was awesome! We enjoyed the stay.”

“We loved our stay in the Blackhouse Cottage, and wished we could have stayed longer. It was gorgeously appointed and well set out. The beds were super comfortable and we were snug and warm in the cold. So cozy and the perfect place to unwind and relax. We would stay here again and again. ”

“Amazing spot, sleeping to the sound of the waves. We had an outdoor tub and once it stopped raining, we took advantage of it and soaked in it. The only “bad” thing was the carpet in the bathroom; it has a moldy smell, probably because it gets wet and doesn’t quite air out. Other than that, wonderful stay! Also, Sue was very helpful with our late check in and communication. ”
