The Space:
Just 55 minutes from Antwerp’s city center, Liberty Lodge by Tiny Away puts you in the heart of an equestrian world unlike any other. Tucked away on a quiet corner of Liberty Ranch in Kalmthout, this tiny house offers views to a spectacle most never see—ponies grazing nearby and, in summer, a herd of 65 horses thundering past just meters away. Spend your days exploring Arboretum Kalmthout or Rubenshuis, then return to a night under the stars with only the sound of hooves in the distance.

A comfortable 221-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet, hand basin, and shower (electric-heated for hot showers).

Guest Access:
Guests have full access to the tiny house and its immediate surroundings. However, the paddocks and designated areas for ranch clients are off-limits for the safety and well-being of the horses.

The Neighborhood:
Liberty Lodge by Tiny Away sits in Kalmthout, 55 minutes from Antwerp’s city center, where nature takes the reins. Explore Kalmthoutse Heide nature reserve, a hub for hikers and cyclists. Where Heathlands turn purple in late summer, forests stretch for miles, and marshy fens reflect the sky.

No tourist gimmicks, just farm shops, strong coffee, and old smuggling routes. The Arboretum holds trees from around the world. Here, history is in the conversations with locals who know every bend in the trail and every shortcut through the woods.

Our local recommendations:

- Zoo Antwerpen is one of the oldest zoos in the world, home to over 5,000 animals. It is located near Antwerp Central Station and offers a mix of historic architecture and modern conservation efforts.
- Arboretum Kalmthout showcases trees and plants from around the world. It’s a year-round destination where landscapes change with the seasons, from cherry blossoms in spring to fiery autumn colors.
- Park van Brasschaat features vast green spaces, walking paths, and a historic castle. Locals come here to jog, picnicking, and enjoy the fresh air away from the city’s bustle.
- Het Steen is a medieval fortress on the Scheldt River, once a prison and now a gateway to Antwerp’s history. The castle offers views over the river and a glimpse into the city’s past.
- Rubenshuis was the home and workshop of painter Peter Paul Rubens. The museum displays his masterpieces, personal collection, and the grandeur of 17th-century Flemish art.

- From Nieuwmoer to Antwerp: 40 kms and 45 minutes by car, 25 minutes by train just into the city center of Antwerp.
- Breda: 30 km from Nieuwmoer and 30 minutes by car
- Rotterdam: 80km from Nieuwmoer, 1 hour and 15 minutes by car
- Brussels: 85 kms from Nieuwmoer, 1,5 hours by car
- Gent: 94 kmw from Nieuwmoer, 1,5 hours by car

The smaller towns are Kalmthout, Wildert, Essen, Wuustwezel: All within 10 to 15 minutes by car

By public transport:

- From train station Essen, take the bus 67 untill Nieuwmoer. That will take about 19 minutes and than about 20 minutes walk.
- From train station Kalmthout, take the bus 67 untill Nieuwmoer. That will take about 13 minutes followed by a walk of 20 minutes to our property.

By flight:

- Antwerp International Airport (ANR): The closest airport, about 45 minutes by car from Nieuwmoer.
- Brussels Airport (BRU): Belgium’s main international hub, located 1.5 hours away by car.
- Eindhoven Airport (EIN): A Dutch airport 1 hour away by car, often a budget-friendly alternative for European flights.
- Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM): 1 hour and 15 minutes by car.
- Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS): A major international hub 1.5 to 2 hours away by car or train.

Other Things to Note:
- Wifi is available
- No BBQ grill is available
- Pets are not allowed
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Smoking is allowed in designated areas of the property
- Mobile reception has weak signals for Orange S.A.; No signals for the rest
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/ property
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers)
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge

- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas
- For stays of 5 nights or more (or for bookings of 5 nights or more), an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
