We stayed one night at Ramada by Wyndham Kamloops, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We arrived around midnight with lots of luggage, only to find no luggage cart available. When I asked the front desk, they just said some guests don’t return them and there was nothing they could do. To be fair, the front desk staff did help us carry our luggage, but this should never have been an issue in the first place.
When we entered the room, we were shocked to see a box full of empty water bottles at the entrance and leftover food in the fridge from previous guests — clearly, the room had not been properly cleaned. After showering, we discovered there was no hair dryer in the room. We were still trying to stay positive, until we got ready for bed.
The bed was made, but when we pulled back the covers, we found stained sheets and hair all over the bed. This was disgusting and completely unacceptable. Around 2 AM, the front desk switched us to another room, but the damage was done — we were exhausted and disgusted.
The next morning, I asked for a partial refund because we paid $160 CAD for a room that was nowhere near worth that price. The front desk simply said, “The world isn’t perfect,” and offered nothing but an apology.
This is absolutely not what you expect from a Ramada hotel. I am furious and will never stay here again. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this hotel — cleanliness and customer care are far below standard.
