“I booked for my father. He said that the room soooooo narrow and smells bad. He doesn’t have a pleasant stay for the night and he don’t want to stay anymore at this hotel. He also mentioned, he told the reception that he will leaving early, and the receptionist overslept and took few minutes to woke them up. Terrible. ”

“I left and forfeited my two night paid reservation. It was that bad. ”

“Decent hostel, great location, basic facilities, nice wall art.”

“Nice enough room, great location and excellent staff, comfy bed, only issue was a bad smell that came from the drains, the staff were quick to spray the drains for us but it only temporarily masked the smell. Didn’t affect our stay massively but would have been nice to not have an odour. Would still recommend for a short stay in sandakan!”

“This place hasn’t been touched since the mid 1980s - thick dust and cobwebs everywhere, and the entire property smells like it hasn’t seen fresh air for decades, including the room. I would encourage any tourists to avoid Sandakan in general, as there’s nothing to do, and just base yourself in Sepilok. If you have to stay in Sandakan, only stay here as a last resort.”
