Say aloha to this gated oceanfront retreat! Beach access is a short 5-minute walk away, but your vacation begins as soon as you step on the grounds of this stunning property. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by a beautiful entryway of Balinese design. Once inside, you’ll find everything you need for a relaxing vacation, including 3 tranquil bedroom suites, a gourmet kitchen, and plenty of space to enjoy. Finally, out the back door, you’ll find breathtaking ocean views from the expansive backyard.

The Home
The layout of this home is perfect for groups or couples traveling together, as each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom and a private entrance/lanai that leads outside – there’s even an ohana (or guest quarters) that is separate from the main house. Whether you’re traveling with friends or family, everyone can have their own private space while also enjoying time together on the property.

If you plan to go to the beach, it’s just a short walk away – pack up the provided beach essentials and relax on the sand or plan an exciting excursion using the provided water sports gear (beach wagon, umbrella, snorkel equipment and boogie boards).

Grill up a feast for the group and enjoy dining on the covered lanai or prepare snacks and a bottle of wine and watch the sun sink over the water on the deck along the seawall. You could truly spend your whole vacation right here.

We spent 8 wonderful days at this property. Everything was very clean and the property manager was very responsive. A couple of things that you need to be aware of when booking: 1. Honeymoon home of our dreams!
This property is definitely for more than 2 people, but we splurged for our honeymoon. The home & location was brilliant and the snorkeling just through the back door was breathtaking. Highly recommend for those that love snorkeling or just want a private beautiful getaway. :)

The Perfect Ocean View Home
We love this piece of property in the Puako neighborhood. It is directly across from the Puako store, and a very short walk to the sandy beach for snorkeling and relaxing. This house has outstanding luxury with incredible views from three porch/decks. It is spacious inside with accomodations for three couples or a large family. We see sea turtles every day, and spectacular humpback whales breeching.

Beautiful home and beach front. The home was nicely furnished., the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped. The private nicely manicured yard provided wonderful viewing for whales and turtles. Puako was a wonderful place.

Beautiful oceanfront property hidden away in quaint Puako on the Big Island. Enjoyed hours in the spacious lanai taking in the view, watching dazzling sunsets and sounds of waves lapping over the shore. The house has a “unusual” froorplan, but is beautifully decorated and landscaped. The property manager provided timely and professional communications and the home was perfectly provisioned with everything that you could possibly need. Bottom line, this property is perfect for couples who are wanting a high end, private oceanfront home to escape to on the Big Island, nestled conveniently between the big resorts in a quiet neighborhood.

We were part of 3 couples enjoying a break from the long Idaho winter. The property is well equipped, beautifully landscaped and so relaxing. We especially loved watching the turtles right off of the sea wall. We even were treated to a Hawaiian Monk Seal sun himself right in front of the house!

Second time here and I'm sure it won't be the last!
The oceanfront experience of this home is like no other place I have ever been. The yard is beautiful, and all of the main spaces have fantastic views of the ocean. My wife and I have now spent almost two months at this property, so we obviously love it. For the first time we had a guest use the small house, and my sister loved it. The property is perfect for a one or two couples. Larger groups will find the funky layout of the bedrooms in the main house strange.

A NEW PARADISE
I am 93 yrs old. My families were all born/ raised in Honolulu. Now live in Oregon. I found HAPUNA BEACH when I was in the military and TDY'd at PUHAKULOA MILITARY CAMP on Saddle Road, in the 1950's. Took the troops for R & R to Hapuna Beach over the weekends. I am sure that was one of their unforgettable memories too. We took family vacations every year for the last 20 years. We celebrated our 50th and 60th Anniversary LUAU's at Hapuna Hotel and KONA VILLAGE. Enjoyed Puako very much. We found a new PARADISE. It was very private and peaceful. ALOHA & MAHALO!

Little piece of heaven…
This house is gorgeous, the grounds are awesome and the location is perfect! So many good things, from the perfect spot to watch the sunsets to the best snorkeling right in your own backyard! Check the tide schedule…when that tide is out, you have an opportunity to venture past the tide polls to see some of the most beautiful reefs…bring your water shoes and watch your step, though (The lava can be slippery and there are urchins in the crevices.) Don’t forget to check out 69 beach…. So gorgeous, a mile around the corner! Only thing, the master bathroom needs a few repairs (shower head is weak at best and the tub…. Just don’t try it, turned on the jets after waiting forever for it to fill, because of leaky fixtures, only to be chased out of bathroom by old water in the lines (stinky, sulphuric stench). This was the only hiccup, they really should fix it or replace it with a soaking tub and faucets that aren’t leaky. I would turn in a heartbeat, and recommend it to everyone! Mahalo!!

Simply paradise
We stayed here as a family - one set of grandparents, parents and a seven year old. It was perfect in every way. Spectacular house with everything we could want and more we didn’t imagine and loved having. It’s true the configuration of the sleeping arrangements is unconventional but the beds were comfy, the master bath enormous (read the property description for room specifics) but the kitchen, living spaces and the lanai are where we spent our time. The landscaping is gorgeous, the pool very pleasant for a place to cool off and the stargazing is great. Hearty swimmers can go right off the property to snorkel the reef; the rest of us used the supplied wagon, beach chairs and umbrella and an assortment of other beach items to walk a few houses down the road to a always quiet beach. The minor issue we had with the house (figuring out how to open a stuck door) was quickly handled by the property manager and her handyman. The seven year old loved the turtles AND watching Disney channel on the huge TV In the evening. Honestly it is paradise!

Great Location and beautiful house
What a view. The house is great, has everything you could need in it. As others mentioned it has a slightly 'different' layout for the second bedroom in the main house. Wasn't a problem for us. Only minutes from Beach 69, the nicest snorkeling/swimming spot on this end of the island. We will be back again.

Had everything that was advertised; kitchen was big with 2 sinks; nice bar behind refrigerator; and the backyard was the best kept and landscaped that I have seen in all of the properties I have stayed in in Puako; you really don’t need to go anywhere else for sunset…. The house is perfect for single family with maybe 3-4 kids; or 2 and 1/2 couples….the attached ohana has great ocean views and very cool with ocean breeze at night; but may be a bit uncomfortable because it is actually a queen Day bed; and getting in and out may be a bit difficult……for some couples. Other than that it is a primo beach front property…..

Fantastic home for a couple
My wife and I stayed here for two weeks and it was truly amazing. The home was clearly originally built for a couple - the 2nd bedroom in the main house was probably an office or gym originally. For a couple or a family with young children who you want near you this place is perfect. There is a nice 2nd bedroom in the detached unit but we never used it. We love this place so much that we are returning for a full month next year.

Beautiful location! The entry and backyard are amazing-we loved having so many turtles to watch every day and the sunset deck was a favorite for happy hour, and yoga. The house has a bit of an odd layout with the second bedroom being primarily accessed through the master, but once everyone got used to using the side door it was better. The house is very unique and interesting, but does need some minor repairs and attention-although kind of understandable with everything going on the last couple years. Unfortunately the AC in the second bedroom went out right before we arrived, but they pretty quickly got a temporary one to us which helped greatly and they were quick to respond. Would definitely recommend!

Big Island Paradise!
An outstanding home with amazing views right on the water. We saw a variety of marine life and lots of turtles every day from the beautiful backyard and deck by the seawall, which is where we spent most of our time just relaxing, watching the sunsets, and stargazing. The house was clean, well-stocked, and had everything we needed. Puako is a quiet little town with many access points to the shoreline/beaches nearby, and the general store across the street was very convenient for small items and excellent sandwiches/salads/drinks. For grocery shopping we recommend Foodland in Waimea. This is also a great location to stay for a short drive to the resort golf courses in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here!
