We went to Great Wolf Lodge as kind of a last minute getaway in the middle if the week. We did not have a heads up that the property was getting a new roof. The work went on from about 8 am to 9pm. Unfortunately my room faced where the work was going on. Our balcony was closed. We had forklifts and workers outside our window 13 hours a day. Exceptionally noisy. We heard every conversation and move the workers made. We could not relax in our room at all during the day. And my toddler was not able to sleep. He normally is in bed by 7 or 7:30 at the latest. But the banging and beeping continued outside our room until 9pm. He couldn't get to sleep with that. He was up until almost 11pm the first night. Which got us off to a bad start. The hotels response when I texted “willow” at 8pm. Was sorry. They should leave soon.
We enjoyed the water park and other amenities. We had a couple of fun days. The construction debacle kind of overshadowed the good and just made everyone exhausted from the start.
I should also add we found at least 3 nails in the parking lot from the ongoing roof construction.
I would just expect more for the price we paid. We would have chosen to stay somewhere else if we had known about the construction.
