One of a Kind-Get Away/Big Cypress Bayou Near Jefferson&Caddo

One of a kind retreat for small families, a romantic get away for two, or fishing/hunting lodge.

This property is built over Big Cypress Bayou river which is 3.3 miles from CADDO Lake, 10 minutes from Historic Jefferson, 20 minutes from old money oil town of Marshall, AND 30 minutes from the wide awake Casino town of Shreveport, LA.

The River House is on a private road which lends to peace and tranquility. Great access to the river for amazing water skiing, jet skiing, and boating awaits. If you're not into water sports, fish all day right off the covered deck. If you have a boat, there is a ramp within 100 yards of the house, and lots of great little fishing holes along the river and back into the cypress forest.

The River House has an outdoor grill. A bonfire is always fun in the cooler months, so sit back relax and enjoy the blaze in the fire pit steps from the house.

The River house is within 10 miles by boat or car to 8,000 acres of public hunting land: deer, squirrel, hog, duck, turkey, and alligator to name a few. You must have a TX hunting license and Type 2 permit. Also, be prepared to follow all TX game and wildlife laws for Marion and Harrison County.

We promise you will not be disappointed with the discovery of this off the beaten path cabin of solitude and good times!

Relaxing getaway

This property is very well looked after. The house is beautiful,there was allot of thought put into getting this place put together. Lots of personality, spacious, very comfortable, and feels like home as soon as you walk in. Beautiful property and great fishing

Coach gave us a warm welcome and was there if we needed anything. This spot has a beautiful view and awesome fishing! We caught over 30 bass here on our weekend stay! Great place to sit on back porch and relax!

Super Hosts and Awesome Get Away Retreat!

At the last minute we were unable to make our trip. After communication with host, who btw is really quick to answer and was very willing to work with us, it was agreed our granddaughter would go in our place. She loved the place, loved the peacefullness and though alone said she didn't feel concerned in any way. The host and Coach were there doing some repairs when she arrived and gave her a tour and acquainted her with everything. She couldn't say enough nice things about it all. I look forward to being able to get there eventually!! Thank you Browns for sharing your little slice of paradise!

Spring Break Get-a-Way

Loved the interior finish out & decor of this fishing cabin as well as the upper deck that looks out over the bayou!! The deck was 10-15 ft over the bayou with great views and fishing access. Having rented the 2-seat kayak was a huge success with my 5 & 7 y/o grandkids!!! That was their favorite activity followed by their constant bike riding on the dirt road!! We used the fire pit several times but glad we brought our own wood, as the host charges for firewood. At the fire pit there are only aluminum frame chairs without cushions, so glad we brought our own chairs. King size bed was soft but comfortable. In the 2nd bedroom, our 5 & 7 y/o grandkids used the futon cushions to make a fort and slept on the floor. Coach was there to greet us upon arrival and was very helpful & available.

Big cypress bayou

Good nice cabin. Loved the view of the water but deck area and boat house is in need of major repair. Had a flood earlier this year (7 months ago) and stairs leading to boat dock fell down or collapsed while trying to go up them. Couldn’t use boat dock after 1st day there. No other way to get to boathouse so I had to launch boat daily. Cabin needs leveled badly but the cabin is very nice! Thanks

Enjoyable stay

Overall, I really enjoyed this property and will be back. I was a little disappointed in two things. First, it wasnt super clean. It was clean enough, not to throw a fit over, but the fans, air intakes, and ceiling had weeks of gathered dust. For me thats not an issue. However, I brought my epically over-clean mother and she notices every little thing. Second, the stairs to the river landing were torn up and it was unaccessible. We were given alternative fighing methods though, and that was beyond satisfactory. Coach was great. I dont talk much, but listening to his stories was fun. We wanted a nice, quiet, relaxing weekend and thats exactly what we got. If that's what you're looking doe, this is the place.

First time near Caddo!

We always wanted to visit the Caddo Lake area, but really didn't know what to expect. This getaway on the bayou was a very pleasant surprise for us and had beautiful scenery! It was also a bonus to meet Coach, who was a great host and right across the road in case we needed anything!

Fabulous getaway

The property is exactly as described. The scenery is beautiful. Such a quiet calming atmosphere. The Manager was on point. He checked in and provided everything needed. Unfortunately, the fish didn’t cooperate but we will be back to enjoy again.
