“We thought the property was adequate for us. But didn't have enough towels as a muck-up with owners cleaner. We weren't told it was 2 stories. But apart from that lovely area.”

“The cottage was perfect for our overnight needs. The kitchen was modern, clean and well-stocked. The bedrooms were comfortable and we loved eating a home-cooked meal on the deck. The night bugs were out when the sun went down so we didn’t spend time on the porch after dinner. The water views were lovely - we just wish we had more time to swim! The owner was in contact quickly with lots of useful information. The property is in a neighborhood that is fairly remote. We stopped in Kawhia……

“Ray is a helpful person. The unit is actually better than the online photos. The fridge is a fridge freezer now and the microwave sits on top of it. There's a nice breakfast bar opposite the kitchen bench and 2 sofas in the lounge. It's a short walk to the shops and wharf. The unit is private and well supplied, for example, we needed scissors and found some in the unit. There are plenty of plates and cutlery. There is a selection of cereals, tea and coffee, and 2 moccona ( I think) coffee……

“Had two superb days here on our second trip to Kawhia. Love the very clean and tidy house, the views and the three lawn mowers who came to visit! (sheep) Patsy, our host, made everything so easy adding to a wonderful feeling of relaxation. Beds very comfortable, kitchen very easy to work in. We were all most reluctant to leave and return to town on Sunday. Thank you so much for our lovely happy time, from all four of us. Jenny”

“Great location at the end of the street by the beach. Very walkable to shops and bars/resaurants. A bit noisy at night due to the location (music,talking), but well worth it. ”

“We have stayed here a few times over the past decade and each stay has been different. That’s because nature changes often and this spot is as close to beach nature as you can be and old classic kiwi bach next to an unspoilt New Zealand. Always so good :) ”
