“The place was in a great location if you want to be out of the a city with close proximity to Killarney, Dingle peninsula and Cliffs of Kerry. 15 minutes to Killarney, 10 to Killorglin, 15’to the beach. The house/pub itself is quite comfortable with everything you need. Great for a group of guys on a trip together The biggest drawback is that while Castlemaine itself is quite small, there is a lot of traffic that passes right by the house, so sleeping in can be tough if you are a light sleeper.”

With five young teens they enjoyed the opportunity to walk into Killarney on their own! And one day all of us walked to the National Park and spent most of the day. One thing that wasn’t explained well is that you check in at the Brehon Hotel, but other than that everything was perfect. We would love to stay again if we come back. ”

The host had lots of information for things to do in the area and was very helpful when we asked for local restaurants and a grocery store. The only thing we missed when booking was that the listing clearly says that there is a washer but no dryer so be aware of that if laundry is needed. She had three drying racks for indoors and a line outside if the weather is nice. The plumbing is quirky and very……
