I stayed here for 5 nights, and the staff and facilities were wonderful. The pool was lovely, clean, and the surrounding areas were well-kept. The pool bar was a great addition. The room was clean, well taken care of, and the cleaning staff did an excellent job. I would stay again on these reasons alone. There were a couple of drawbacks however, one being there was only one elevator bank working the whole stay with apparently no attempt at fixing the other one, which made wait times high at busy hours. Then, the only working elevator also went down for almost 24 hours. Leaving guests and housekeeping to take the stairs. I was fine to do so, but there were some elderly patrons in wheelchairs, and I wondered how they got to their rooms. The second challenge was something I already knew would be a problem, and it cannot be helped...and that is this hotel is on Roosevelt, by far the busiest and most heavily trafficked road in Key West. Sirens all day and night, and I thought booking a poolside room would help - it did not. This is not the hotel's fault, but something to be aware of, as if you are a light sleeper, you will be challenged. The roosters, which are at every hotel on the island, are just a part of the island's charm, and if you can't handle that, don't come to KW at all. Overall, I would stay again, but they really need to work on the elevator situation.
