You need only walk one block north to find sand, surf, and endless sunshine when you escape to Manning's Landing, a three-bedroom home near the shore in Kill Devil Hills.

This elevated home is close enough to the beach that you can stroll home at lunchtime, rinse off in the enclosed outdoor shower, and prepare a homemade meal in the well-appointed kitchen. There's ample space to dine at the island breakfast bar, the adjacent dining nook, and the shaded picnic table under the house. There you'll also find a storage area with a washer/dryer for your swimsuits and ample space to store your fishing rods, beach chairs, or bikes.

Back upstairs, you can bring a cold drink outside to the deck, kick back in the comfort of central air-conditioning, or gather in the living area for a card game or a movie on the smart TV. Two of the bedrooms have TVs as well.

Things to Know
There is no cable service, but all of the TVs support streaming (please bring your own account credentials)
The laundry room is in the storage area on the first level.
This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina, LLC.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Will not use this company again

Broken bed frame/unsafe bed so 1 guest had to sleep on the couch. Worse, the fridge smelled of rotten fish and permeated the room whenever opened as well as the food inside. The smell clung to your hands and cans stored in the fridge and brought to the beach. The company was notified immediately and did nothing to help or correct the matter. We lost half a day waiting for what they said was, "sending someone immediately" as they never came (we had a dog and knew we should be there when a stranger arrived). Food that could not be put in the fridge due to that odor (fresh produce, baked goods I prepared and brought) got ants from being left on the counter or over ripened. Our loss of comfort, money, time and food was never addressed during our 4 night stay (other than false platitudes of "we have forwarded to the local manager" or "we will get back to you"). The offer of $90 was nowhere near acceptable. It is weeks later and I only got a small compensation after many hours waiting on the phone/repeated calls. This company did not live up to its assertions of providing support for issues not did the listing live up to its amenities as it was 1 bed less and the smell was truly awful.

Family Fun

Beds were lousy. Foam rubber for mattress? very uncomfortable. Single beds were not beds they were cots that squeaked and moved everytime yo tried to roll over. No cooking utensils in the kitchen.

Beautiful spot!

We loved this place! Super clean and well taken care of. Beds were super comfy. Beach access was a couple minutes walk away. Outdoor shower and BBQ area downstairs was cool! We'd definitely come back!

Kill Devil Hills experience

We had a fun time staying here. The place made us feel at home with its welcoming layout. The grocery store and some restaurants were only a short drive away as well. Some small issues were the beach access being a 10-15 minute walk and the grass was not maintained.

Great location

Close to the bypass and beach road- we were able to walk to Goombays, along with walking the dogs to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked and the living room was comfortable.

Comfortable and well located

A nice, homely property, well located near the beach and within reach of all outer banks attractions. Beds were really comfortable and 2 decent bathrooms. If I had to be picky, the comfortable chairs were a bit dirty and it was an older renovation. That said we would return in a heartbeat!

Great stay

Overall, I give this cute home 5 stars! Comfortable furniture and bed. Nice kitchen for cooking. We’ll stocked! Downfall, no dishwasher so for a large party there would be lots of dish washing but for just me and my husband it was not a big deal. Lovely outdoor deck with Adirondack chairs. We ended up driving to the beach access point because of the length of the walk and all we had to carry. Again, no big deal. Please note that the landscaping is non existent weeds very high and full of sand spurs witch I had to constantly remove from the paws of my sweet little Yorkipoo. Overall a great experience. Vacasa was great to deal with. Very quick to respond to the two maintenance issues we had.

Great house, good value

Exactly what our family was looking for when we booked our trip. Cozy, yet somewhat spacious open living room and kitchen. Good location and walkable to grocery store. We did find ourselves driving to beach access. We are very happy with the decision to rent the house.

Not alone! We didn't expect company!

House a bit dated but fairly well stocked. Cleaning staff did a great job, but due to rain, construction or whatever, we encountered some large ROACHES! Guest book mentioned the bugs, but when I called & spoke to a representative, she assured me the house had been treated. (There were traps throughout the house.) I texted the Manager & always received responses within minutes. Manager was apologetic & advised situation would be addressed, promptly. After more sightings, I reached out around 10pm & requested a call the following day. No phone call, but a nice man came with his sprayer shortly after lunchtime. We appreciated the effort, but, of course, it caused more activity! This house needs to be bombed, repeatedly, and steel wool put in the many openings where cabinetry & flooring don't meet. The house would get a very good rating, but it never should have been rented in this condition.

Roaches and Uncleaned

The appearance of outside the grass was not cut and the house address number was missing a 6. The screen door rod was bent and difficult to shut. As soon as you open the door, a musty odor throughout the house. Kitchen stove burners had residue around it and oven dirty. Fridge was dirty —door handle trim and rubber around door was also dirty. Blinds were extremely black with dirt in every room. Blinds had broken pieces. Ceiling fan in every room was caked with dust. Main Bathtub wall had an edge and under that edge was thick layer of dirt. Toilet holder was enclosed which had layer of dust in that enclosure. Bathroom sink had clogged drain. Half bath toilet kept running and water would not stop. Light bulb was blown out in that bathroom. Every wall had black scuff markings. This home was not professionally cleaned. It needed a deep cleaning. I had to clean it for me to be comfortable in staying there. Then in morning hours a roach the size of a woman pointy finger was crawling on the bathroom wall and another in the kitchen cabinet. Then few hours later on the dining room floor. We could not stay there any longer. We had to throw out all of our food and paper products because we did not want to carry any roaches home. Then we washed all of our clothes at laundry mat and had to throughly inspected everything for roaches or eggs. This was a nightmare. We had to pay a cleaning fee to this home and we had to still do all of this when we got there. We contacted property management. After the fact it should have been cleaned before we arrived, they sent maintenance to repair the items but for some reason did not fix the clogged drain in bathroom or the running toilet. The grass did not get cut. Cleaning crew was sent but no real deep cleaning. Living room blinds was extremely black, kitchen fridge door and rubber was still dirt, bathroom tub edge still layers of dirt, and ceiling fans was still dusty. You think since Covid is going on that this home would be deep cleaned. We notified management on the roaches and sent a photo to them but still waiting on a response. Hopefully they will compensate us for all of this. It was horrible experience. Poor representation of their cleaning and maintenance crew. We had to shorten our vacation and the extra expense of lost of food and extra cleaning. Travelers beware of this home. I home management here on out follows up on their properties.
