Our flight was delayed, which meant that we arrived later than planned, approximately 9:30pm on a Sunday. There was a bit of a wait while the staff assisted other customers; check-in staff were pleasant, and there were no issues with checkin itself.
When we asked about food and beverage options, we were told the restaurant was closed and the bar would close at 10pm. We’d have to rush, if we wanted anything from the bar. We said that we’d be fine with a couple of Red Stripes and fast food. (A frozen patty reheated in a Microwave would have been perfect.)
The staff recommended their convenience shop, which we checked out. Unfortunately, the options were limited, banana chips, soda, 1 Red Stripe. When we asked why there was only one Red Stripe available, the staff told us that all the other customers bought the rest. We suggested that it would make sense to keep an eye on the stock in the shop and replenish it, to which we received a shrug. We asked one of the staff to check if they had any warm Red Stripe that we could buy and put in ice, but none were found.
My husband did get to the bar, and the bartender let him buy a couple of Red Stripes after closing time, and we were able to relax in our rooms after a long travel day. A recommendation to the hotel management is to ensure their staff has enough stock to keep the convenience store replenished for travelers who have unexpected arrival delays and would like to unwind, even after the bar and restaurant close.
