The first room we were given stunk of body odor. We were moved to the 3rd floor which happens to be directly under the floor where extensuve renovations start at 7am.
So, at 7am, there was an insane amount of drilling, banging, stomping on the floors, etc.
When i called the front desk, the receptionist said there is nothing she can do without authorization from the owner who cant be reached.
We spent $200 on a room to be woken up at 7am. Disgraceful.
At breakfast, we met another couple who were on the second floor, and they heard the construction, as well. It's impossible not to, power tools and hammers reverberate throughout the whole hotel.
We dont expect a refund, because no one cares. The hotel has been paid, and the owner is absent, and the Holiday Inn couldnt care less.
We will, though, get an 'I'm sorry to hear about your inconvenience, and we will work hard to improve your next stay.'
As if that's good enough.
