My son and I loved staying here! The second we entered he declared, "Oh this is cozy!" The house was clean and comfortable and in a gorgeous area. The host was also very responsive.

This quiet cottage was the perfect romantic retreat. Located close to the water and nearby walking trails, the location was both private and convenient. The furnishings and decor were lovely, and kitchen was impressively stocked with everything we needed to prep food and dine in. We’ll be back regularly!

So many details made the difference...tasteful, quality updates to this sweet cottage with a history made for a special vacation home. Perfect kitchen, fireplace in and out, beautiful wood everywhere, and everything we needed. Our hosts could not have been more responsive and accommodating . Waking up to coffee and the view of the creek in the sunshine started the day just right. Loved it.

We had a great stay. This property is ideally located near Portsmouth and in walking distance from Kittery restaurants. The scenery is just beautiful and this was a quick drive from Boston, our starting point.

Cottage is gorgeous and comfortable. There is traffic noise starting at 6-6:30 am but not too bad with ear plugs. Kitchen very well equipped. Beautiful setting and easy drive to Portsmouth

A classmate and I stayed here to attend our 50th class reunion weekend and the property was absolutely perfect for us. After all the shenanigans of enjoying our fellow classmates, it was a home away from home that was much appreciated. The home is quiet and peaceful, which is just what was needed. I hope to return!

There are so many little touches that show an attention to detail and hospitality, and I enjoyed learning about its history being passed down through the family. Lovely Cottage with Water View!! Hosts Sarah and Peter have made sure that you will have all that you need for your stay. The cottage is super clean, pantry is stocked, high end cookware, and just those little touches that say welcome! Communication with our hosts was great and all replies to any question very prompt. This cottage is a wonderful refuge. The location was perfect, steps from Barter's Creek with a sweet view. The design of the cottage was both tasteful and very comfortable - no rattan here. This included the two cozy bedrooms with great mattresses. Sarah and Pete clearly went to great lengths to thoughtfully design this place with guests in mind. The kitchen is beautifully equipped for cooking in and there is a dining area and a lovely deck. It is also near two great parks and another right across the creek. We had many gorgeous walks at Fort Foster and Fort McClary, both on the water. Kittery is nearby for restaurants and cafes and even nearer is Pepperell cove for waterfront dining. Watching the tides coming and going in Barter's Creek was a highlight of our trip. I've rarely found a place that so perfectly integrates the outdoors with the indoors. A gem!

Absolutely as described. Everything we had hoped for and more! We purchased live lobsters one day and when we went to cook them found there was not a pot large enough to put them in. I called Sarah, and within less than a half hour her sister-in -law cheerfully wrapped on the door with not one, but three large pots of various sizes in tow. We loved the location , would happily return and highly recommend to any small family!

Elegant and rustic at the same time, updated decor. Completely redone with terrific details and gas fireplace. Beautifully maintained. Owners are very friendly and responsive to questions.

We had a wonderful time at Sarah's house. Beautiful furnishings and incredibly comfortable beds!! Loved walking to the little bridge to see the water flowing to and fro each day, on to Fort McClary for lovely vistas and unusual trails along the side. What a great spot!
