Think ahead for food; we arrived on a Sunday in mid-May and all the markets and most of the restaurants were closed. No dining facilities on site and don’t plan on “walking into town”, as it’s about 1.5 km away and it’s a steep uphill on the way back. Communication had challenges. On the eve of my departure for Greece, I received an email with check-in instructions all in Greek……

“Die Lage hat uns sehr gut gefallen, sehr zentral (bezüglich Insel) und gut versteckt, also sehr ruhig. Leider auch kaum auffindbar. Erstes Problem war, dass man mit der Buchung keinen konkreten Namen der Unterkuft erhält, noch eine genaue Adresse. Somit war es erstmal schwierig die Unterkunft zu finden, ist auch überhaupt nicht beschildert. Ohne Hilfe der Einheimischen, überhaupt nicht möglich. Nur ohne Unterkuftsname ist es auch schwierig die nötige Hilfe von Einheimischen zu bekommen. Also das……

“House is just as pictured, AC's in every room, amazing view of the bay, pool was perfect. Restaurants along the bay was easily accessible with a grocery store.Cons: Elevator was broken and house is 2 flights up from the parking. There's no microwave, there's no shower doors to block the water, so bathroom floor was always wet on the first floor. It's a 20min drive to the highway”
