“I went mid week and had a pleasant stay while it is quiet. The hotel is in pretty good condition, when I arrived they were even installing new TVs. It is clean and well maintained, a very good standard for a 3star hotel in Ghana. The food at the beach restaurant was my favourite, try the calamari and fried rice, very tasty. Also nice to have breakfast, hotels.com didnt let me know it was included it was also good. Staff very helpful even though it is quiet during the week”

“Customer service is brilliant and overall the hotel is clean. I stayed in a standard room which was clean, had air conditioning, clothing storage, additional seating and toiletries provided. However no coat hangers were provided, no mosquito net and there are no bedside electric outlets for charging mobile etc. The food was mediocre but edible and the restaurant itself is very dated. “Excellent stay - the men on reception were very calm and professional (which marked a great improvement compared to my experience at the same property a few years ago). The room was clean and comfortable , Wi-Fi was stable and the security/porters / cleaners were all nice and polite guys too. “We had never been to Ghana and liked the sound of staying at a Cultural Center and Hotel. Akpe was not a standard American hotel, but it was amazing in many ways. Safety was never a concern, even while walking around the village during all times of the day. The hotel is a few blocks from the beach, but we really enjoyed walking through the village, mingling with the shop owners and meeting the people on the way to the beach. You do not really have access to the beach. Its beyond a chain link fence with security. It is a public beach with hawkers and the like and not well kept.
