Retreat stay
We loved the overall experience of staying at De Vos. The highlight was absolutely the De Vos Team looking after us. Nothing was too much, they were so friendly, cheerful and warm. I miss them already. We took part in pretty much all the of the activites that were on offer - a welcoming cava ceremony, watching Ju climb the palm trees to collect fresh coconuts for us to drink and to prepare our meals, Lovo ( cooking in the ground on hot stones - my favourite meal ) a goodbye meke and bonfire on the beach together with snorkelikng, reef walks, horse riding on the beach and arranging a visit to a local village and waterfall.
We had all of our meals provided at De Vos and had requested clean healthy food either vegetarian or pescatarian. We enjoyed local Fijian style cuisine, including seaweed dishes and locally caught fish. De Vos did an amazing job with the resources they have.
The Bures were beautiful and had a luxury feel as well as the house and pool areas. The rooms in the house are in need of some minor maintenance and updating. There are a LOT of beds in the some of the rooms! Some of the showers were faulty.
Overall this place is good value and if you aren't expecting perfection in the rooms in the house, you can't go wrong.
I would love to come back here with my extended family. Perfect for groups of between 12 and 24.
The location was well away from the normal tourist area with a BEAUTIFUL beach and only 10 minutes walk from the local supermarket.
