“What a wonderful place, very beautiful and relaxing. Accommodation absolutely top notch, staff even better. Having stayed in several highly rated 5 star hotels during our month long tour of India we felt this to be the best. If you're looking for the backwater experience in true comfort and style then this gives you that. We hired a day boat which picked us up from the bottom of the garden. We spent the evenings watching the boats go by and the chinese fishing nets being used. Realy all one……

“Beautiful setting and friendly stuff but let down by simple things, such as, not collecting rubbish left outside the room and charging extortionate price for tea (compared to anywhere else in India) when we assumed it was free by the way they offered without mentioning a price.”

“The property is spacious very traditional look tall ceilings large bathrooms. Powerful ac in bedrooms and good fans in the living area. It is well located in the center of fort in a tucked away area. We slept amazingly well and the chef Vishnu took care of all our dietary needs and prepared wonderful Indian meals. Breakfast and dinner. We could not stop eating. Ram the on-site manager of the property took care of our city tour arranged swimming pool in Taj resort helped with tickets for dance……

Shamil is an excellent host and responded quickly to any questions or queries during our stay. Varghese, the caretaker, also lives nearby and is always happy to help. It was easy to contact a recommended tuk tuk driver and visit local restaurants, shops etc. We particularly recommend a day boat trip to the backwaters during your stay.”
