I love this small cottage, it was a shepard’s hut back in 1880’s. Its cosy and the wood pannelling harks back to an easier simpler times. Even though the Bothy was built in the 1880’s it has been modified to add the comforts of life.
As you enter there is a boot room to hang your coats and muddy boots.
A beautiful bathroom with a shower and toilet and amenities of shower shampoo and conditioner all for your personal use. On the opposite side is a small study if you need to work from home, or it can be made into an extra bedroom that has a sofa bed. The view from this room is of the driveway and the surrounding fields.
Then you pass into the living room where you will find 2 comfy sofas a wood burner stove and a smart TV.
The kitchen is fully fitted with a dishwasher, washing machine microwave, induction cooker and a fridge freezer. There is also a Nespresso machine and French Press. In the kitchen there is also space for a dining table and 4 chairs. so everyone will be comfortable having their full Scottish.
There are 2 bedrooms, one has a king sized bed and the second has 2 single beds. In keeping with the age of the Bothy the beds are original cast iron beds from the 1880, but the mattresses are from the 21st Century, memory foam and deep filled toppers. A very comfortable nights sleep is promised.
At the back of the Bothy is such a lovely area. The path outside the back door leads to a fire pit with chairs, that are situated under the tall pines. The romantic Swedish wood burning Hot Tub is for just for 2 people to enjoy, while watching the sunset and sipping wine and counting the shooting stars.
The Bothy is a very special home and its where a real gentleness of nature can be seen and felt. The fairy lights at night make it even more magical.
I love to sit during the day under the old pine trees when the sun shines, or when the wind gently blows through the branches or as the dusk slowly descends and you can see the deer make their way back behind the Bothy. I try to read a book but its so much easier to sit under the pine trees and dream.
So come and stay at The Bothy, relax, unwind, walk the track to Loch Dola or Loch Craggie, drink coffee or hot chocolate by the fire, watch the farmer tend his sheep and cattle and wish you could stay forever.
