Summary: Hotel is clean, but gas wall heater does not warm the room enough, and customer service is unwilling to give a fair refund for the poor nights sleep due needing to use a noisy space heater to stay warm. It is clear the hotel was remodeled and clean, but the owner is not keeping up with heater maintenance, and uses virtual customer support from another country to make it painful to get a fair refund. This hotel is going downhill.
The good: room was clean and ready on time, and local staff tried to help me.
The bad: Gas wall heater was not able to heat the room to 70F, and could only heat to 60 to 66F. The room already had a space heater in it, but it was noisy and prevented me from sleeping through the night. This is a virtual hotel, and customer support is located in another country. I asked for the heater to be resolved before the 2nd night, and the local person came to replace the heater's remote/receiver batteries, but it did not change anything. After 2 nights of interrupted sleep from the space heater, I asked for a refund and what was offered was $150 credit card refund for a $460 stay, and $100 off a future stay with expiration date of 1 yr after arguing. To me this is not enough refund for not being able to sleep for 2 nights.
