“Friendly and lovely place. Our room was small but it had everything we needed. Jo kindly left us croissants and yogurts for the morning and was very flexible with check-in. Askrigg is a beautiful village. It’s certainly worth a visit if you are a fan of James Harriott!”

“We loved staying here! Kitchen had everything, inc. a cafetière, salt & pepper grinders, dedicated drawer of superbly sharp knives(!) & a resident kitchen spider who earnt her keep by catching a mosquito! The bed is huge - could easily fit 3 people! (Duvet cover is a bit noisy/rustles like taffeta when it moves, so light sleepers with partners prone to nocturnal limb flailing might be kept awake by this. The antique wardrobe was ace - I enjoyed the labelled shelves based on sartorial stylings……

“Stayed for 2 nights but could have stayed for 2 weeks. Lovely and quiet, great outdoor fire pit area and acres of space to socialise and chill indoors. Would highly recommend. ”

“There are only 3 pods, which protects the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The view is exceptional and a place to truly relax. The pods offer a good standard of living space with a lovely hot shower and a really comfortable bed. The local sheep add an interesting intro to being in the countryside and lovely to watch. The pod is reached by a narrow single track road but this didn’t cause us any difficulties. The location is great for getting most places in the Dales. We will definitely be back. ”

“Lovely clean cottage, if you are over 6’ tall you might struggle as the space around the toilet in the wet room is very limited. Otherwise a great little place for a couple of days. 2 lots of garden furniture and a log burner in the living room area were a bonus and the small but well equipped kitchen came in handy for preparing a curry!”
